Here Is A Pun: Time Crysis

By John Walker on November 23rd, 2009 at 9:30 am.

Lorraine, my density has bought me to you.

I remember being very pleased the time I found a Delorean mod for GTA Vice City. That lovely car, upward opening doors, very cute. It was as nothing compared to this mod for Crysis that Lewie points out to us – all that Back To The Future detail. You can time travel in it! (To the opposite time of day, but you know, it’s still time travel.) Check out the video below.

Pretty special, innit? First time I’ve wanted to Play Crysis, frankly. Even the prospect of dragging terrified Korean men around didn’t do anything for me. But this…

The video just keeps getting more and more insane as it goes on. I mean, that is just sheer orders of magnitude beyond awesome.

I can’t believe they made this video without the soundtrack. Here, all is made well (and it synchs up perfectly):

Sorry failed to comment correctly. My praise was meant for Smee’s combination of the video with the Back to the Future theme.

      (and @ diebroken)

“There’s that word again. Heavy. Why is everything so heavy in the future? Is there some kind of problem with the Earth’s gravitational pull?”

  12. I am amazed, the DeLorean even gets covered in frost after time-traveling!

Looking forward to version 2.0, codenamed “We don’t need roads”.

  13. Try spawning the DeLorean way up at the top of the cliffs at Mesa, gunning towards the edge and activating the time circuits and jumping out right before it runs off the cliffs. It’ll time warp in midair with the fire trails curving down towards the ground.

Then all you have to do is press Y and call it back to present time, for a fiery end to it all…

This does however bring up the question whether the DeLorean is only supposed to be capable of time travel at exactly 88 MPH, as in this mod. Shouldn’t traveling above this speed be enough for a successful warp? Is there no geek here who can come to the rescue and quote the actual movie?

  14. LionsPhil says:

The Vice City mod is far more complete, though, with proper 55/85/15 timezones, contemporary DeLoreans, and even the time train these days.

    It went past 88 mph.

    • Koozer says:

I noticed that. This mod is now null and void. The start of the time travel sequence was too sudden too, where did the orange sparks building up into the bright blue flash go?

I like Back to the Future a little too much methinks.

      report

  20. Xercies says:

At 88 miles an hour your going to see some serious shit

    Unfortunately with this mod…I didn’t…

A DeLorean is the only proper way to time travel.
