It’s competition time again! In celebration of the release of the Mirkwood expansion Codemasters have given us three triple-pack key sets for Lord Of The Rings Online, so that includes Shadows of Angmar, Mines of Moria and Siege of Mirkwood, and we’re giving them away to you. Head south of the click for details. (This is a UK-only competition, I’m afraid, but stay tuned, because the RPS Hivemind will itself be brave the deep dark of Mirkwood in December.)
To win you need to email us via this link with the answer to this question: Would you rather be an ent, a troll, or a giant spider, and why? The best answers, as judged by an RPS editor, will receive prizes. The closing date is midnight on the Monday 7th of December.
We won’t need your postal address with your entry, as the prize is digital. Nevertheless, entry to the compo means agreeing to our terms and conditions. We do not keep your details longer than six months, nor do we supply them to anyone, or use them for nefarious purposes. Only winning details will be passed on to the prize sponsor.

FIRST!
(I think that answers the competition question)

And so I finally find myself on the wrong end of a UK only competition, had to happen eventually I suppose. Not to worry I wouldn’t have entered anyway. I’ve played WoW and have no desire to play it again even if it is dressed up as a hobbit.

I have entered your ‘competition’, although I’m am wary of rule #7 in your terms and conditions.. but still, one must do what one can.
Hurrah for being a card-carrying britlandian!

Does this also come with a sub? (Or did the game go sub free? I thought that was only in the US. The website mentions playing ’10 days for free’ so I’m assuming that this is the case.)

I am have entered. :)

Yay, I’ll give it a go for free.

Missed opportunity with “Lord of the Wins Online”. What a shame.

They just had a free week for old accounts as a promotion for Mirkwood. It’s a great game that’s obviously improved over the last few years.
It’s surely a solo experience though, especially when levelling.
Good luck all.

What is this website coming to when good puns are going to waste?

I remember entering the checkout with a life time subscription box for lotro, £200. That would be a worth while prize, but a prize as an invitation to pay a monthly fee is worth nothing.

I have sent i my entry, which contains far too many words. But it’s a Lord of the Rings-centric question so I couldn’t help myself.

When I read the title I thought they had found a way to end in LOTR-online.

And I though it was another “WIN / FAIL” crap.

I certainly not the first to say that if the client was free, i’d happily pay a 3-6 month sub, and give this game a whirl. As it is, a free week just isn’t enough bait.
Something nice about being a MMO virgin. I wanna save myself for the right man!

Drat! It’s always a UK-only competition.

So how you going to check if someone is actually from the UK ;)
