I know there’s a few of you out there who will be interested in this. The Lego Universe Beta sign ups have gone live over here. No word as yet for when it will kick off, but it can’t be long. It might be worth registering with the main Lego site too, as there’s an option for logging in with Lego ID? Hmm.

We just had this discussion in the PCG chat, so I’ll say it now before anyone else makes the mistake. LEGO. Not legos. Lack of capitals is acceptable, just as long as you don’t put the s on the end. Also acceptable is lego bricks.
Now that’s out the way, I sure do love lego :D

Yes. YES! LEGO.
Man, that feels cathartic.

I hold a dream that one day I will play this with my daughter. For this to happen it needs to survive, and that means it needs to be good.
Please let it be good.

I hear you, I’m looking forward to this for my eldest son!

Oh my god, legos are my childhood, but I never have got into any of the games. When I have kids at some point, I’m going to pass on my lego collection to them, and this would be an awesome additional creativity boost. hopefully. If it doesn’t suck. Yea…
10/02/2010 at 08:44 Bobsy says:
Can we please stop calling them ‘legos’? It’s obscene.
As a toy, it is referred to simply as ‘lego’. As in: “Mother, calmly disengage your vodka-drip. I am playing with my lego”.
The bricks themselves are ‘lego bricks’. There is no such thing as ‘a lego’ or ‘legos’.

Heres hoping you can build stuff with virtual LEGO… but would that endanger the sales of the real plastic kits or something?
10/02/2010 at 11:00 terry says:
“This sort of thing would suggest it doesn’t. They’re probably endangering the bricks more by making them so ruddy expensive >:(
10/02/2010 at 21:05 ExitJudas says:
There will be a community driven sandbox free build lego mode in the game. Check out all the reviews from CES. You can even program your LEGO models with behaviours, animations, a la LEGO mindstorms.
