Blimey, expected a fun clip and got TF2 euro-techno.

I’m just going to bed, you brits, over there across the pond, in the future…

  3. As Bill Bailey pointed out; that lyric may sound profound but actually makes no more sense than “I’ve got Ham but I’m not a Hamster”.

what the fuck this is awful. I blame europe

    report

    • Wulf says:

The United Kingdom is found within Europe, and this site is run by British people, limeys if you prefer the term, but specifically: Europeans. Not to mention that the majority of readers are likely British too, drawn here by the British sense of humour found within the writing (I never did get Destructoid or Kotaku, they’re mostly not at all funny to me, but RPS is frequently so).

Soooo… you do realise that, right? >.> WELCOME TO EUROPE!

      report

    • TeeJay says:

You are technically correct but the term “europe” is often used in the UK as shorthand to denote “mainland europe / the rest of europe”. It can also mean “the EU / European Commission / Brussels / Eurozone”. It doesn’t technically make any sense, but you can usually tell what people mean from the context.

If a Brits hears an American talk about “Europe” and “Europeans”, depending on what is being discussed they might or might not take it as applying to them (for example “Europe doesn’t want to fight in Afghanistan” or “PC game are more expensive in Europe” etc).

      report

    • hexapodium says:

I blame Europe, the 80s glam metal band. Whilst we Europeans are responsible for many things considered bad by other nationalities (small cars, industrial design, IKEA, Swiss neutrality), I don’t think we can take blame for Eurodance and techno in quite the same way.

      report

    • StenL says:

Techno is actually a thoroughly American invention, seeing as it was born in Detroit.

      report

    • bookwormat says:

Us Europeans cannot be taken responsible for cheap techno music. We are still busy apologizing for France Gall.

    Techno ruins everything. Poor Soldier

    report

    • Ignorant cretins that are not aware what “techno” really is, ruin everything.

(The music in the video is much closer to euphoric trance, if anything.)

      report

    • mandrill says:

I thought it was more of a happy hardcore number myself

      report

    • drewski says:

In non-dance music speak, all dance music is handily labelled “techno”. As this is clearly dance music, it fits the bill for those who aren’t fans of the genre. Don’t be a music snob.

It’s nice, whether it’s euphoric trance or happy hardcore. Sounds more like trance to me, though.

      report

    • Redd says:

It’s not Happy Hardcore without piano and chipmunk vocals. Trust me, I used to live with someone who’d play it 24/7. I still have nightmares.

This and Larington’s post are how I felt about this.

At first I simply had no clue what I was listening to or why I was listening, but the ending was perfect. This is the new Starcraft 12 Days of Christmas, it’s just one of those things that’s absolutely useless and silly, but funny at the end.

      I liked it. I think!
