There’s going to be a heap of Brink coverage turning up across the net this week, as Paul Wedgwood, Ed Stern and their Splash Damage crew have been off showing the game to European press in Paris. We’ll link to some of that in a bit, I suspect. Brink, the grapevine has it, was quite the star in an event that showed off Rage, Hunted, and Fallout: new Vegas. In the meantime: see these new images. Click for full size!

This game definitely looks, and sounds, and seems quite promising. Let’s hope it delivers.

That man at the top is coping enormously well with his bullet wound, what a trooper.

they say brink requires teamplay which means you can’t compare it to TF2.
04/05/2010 at 17:14 Mistabashi says:
Hur de hurr…
Anyone who says TF2 doesn’t require teamplay is either just trolling, or has only played in really shit instaspawn 32-man public servers. Find a decent server and let the teamplay commence.

Nice use of both “fanboy” accusation AND a over-used meme (that, ironically, is really popular on the TF2 forums).

TF2 doesn’t require teamwork, it enforces teamwork. This is a subtle but vital difference.
04/05/2010 at 16:53 Sobric says:
Looking forward to this enormously.

The faces have a style.
If that style is a good thing, or a bad thing, is still something we have to decide.
It was a really bad thing in Oblivium, where everyone (even the elvis) looked a bit retarded.

a-side) It will be really good thing to have another game full of style. b-side) But It will be a bad thing to have a game where all the characters look like a retarded version of the TF2 heavy.
This screenshots are more on the B side. Probably are just a random collection of shots. Maybe the player was soo adicted that forgot to make screenshots.

Am I alone in somehow classifying this game as similar to APB, up there in my cognitive brain-type area? As in, I probably won’t get both, and Brink currently looks much more compelling to me?
04/05/2010 at 17:49 Shalrath says:
After seeing the gameplay, I still get this odd RPG feel from it – IE. you shoot a guy for 15 seconds until he falls down, then move to the next guy, etc.
I realise it isn’t like that, but I can’t get that impression out of my head.

To be fair, these are just large, whereas Escaflowne’s were long and pointy.

Looking forward to this game. Hope to see actual gameplay footage soon though. Only saw a few small tech demos.
