You might recall that last year we enjoyed the impressive but imperfect strategy title King Arthur, with its mixture of turn-based and real-time elements, and its use of epic magic. This year Neocore have returned to their Crusades theme, with Lionheart: Kings’ Crusade. Also: an epic metal theme-tune. Stirring stuff. But we’ve also pinched GT’s walkthrough from the floor at E3, in which Neocore’s producer Zoltan Varga explains some of his games’ more interesting features, such as cover on complex historical battlefields, and the ability to send thousands of tiny men to their death, over and over. Sigh.

Zoltan Varga, a name that moves mountains. And probably replaces them with giant death-rays.

MOSH!
About Paradox, seem like they’re getting there.

The last game to be called Lionheart was the most disappointing game ever, because it used the SPECIAL system (yay!) and ran out of content after 45 minutes (boo!).

More awful ‘strategy/rpg game metal’.

More, you say? OK!

I quite liked their previous games, in spite of the fact that Crusaders seemed needlessly punishing at times. This one seems to be using the same engine, only throwing around more units. I’m interested, but I’m not really sure how interested right now.

Could well be nifty, as am I interested in this new DLC or expansion dealie they’ve about got ready for King Arthur that sandboxes things up a bit after getting the earlier DLC packs off a Steam sale.

This made me wanna play Kingdom Under Fire.

Finally! Someone else whose actually played that gem. Best thing that was ever released for the original X-box.

Has King Arthur been patched to the point where it’s worth buying yet? Total War type games are exactly my style, but I’m still sore from the AI fiasco that is Empire: TW.

Anyone who’s song that is in the epic trailer, its qyite good.

I do believe that’s some Nightwish on the go, odd choice. Didn’t think the teenage-goth-chick crowd would be into Jihad/Crusade themed strategy games.
