Lots of people nodded at Dustforce , which the ever-wonderful IndieGames blog brought to public light. It’s a platformer by Hitbox Team which is currently available in demo form, which includes two proper levels, a handful of custom levels and a (twitchy) level editor for you to play around with the custom ones with. Its controls take some getting used to, but this is startlingly beautiful, acrobatic platforming about brush-wielding sweepers whose devotion to leaf-obliteration humbles us all. Footage follows and the demo’s available here.

It reminds me of Super Meat Boy, except, you know. The protagonist isn’t a boy made of delicious meat.

Dyst: I was going to say that, but forgot. Man!

Seconded. Beat all the levels in the demo and really enjoyed it! Definitely keeping an eye on it. Games about boys made of meat and chimney sweeps, who woulda thought…

Looks nice, but I think the trailer music could use some work. ;-)

Just had a quick run through. Frustrating but not overly so.
I did find that parts of the Autumn level background kinda confused me a few times but that might just be me. (But a background that’s partly grids for a foreground that partly grids doesn’t seem the most prudent decision in a fast moving game, whether or not the grids are slightly smaller)

Wait, did you just reference my favorite Kenickie song?

I see no mention of being taken to the cinema so he certainly didn’t mention MY favourite.

Hmm, another Britpop reference in a KG title bar? Classy.
*cough*

Now, I’m willing to bet a large part of this might be down to my lack of practise with platform games on a a keyboard, but I didn’t get on with the controls at all. Looks wonderful and everything, but the character just felt a bit imprecise. Made it a bit frustrating.
I’ll give it a few more goes to see if it’s just me being rubbish.

It’s awesome and all, but it runs in slo-mo for me, clearly all the bloom and particle effects are too much for my PC.

First thing that comes to mind is N.
Got a bit frustrated with the checkpoints but got there in the end.
Lovely artwork. Looks a good ‘un.

Getting FPS issues, which is odd since I can run many new games at 1650×1080, highest settings. Game runs at a crawl, very choppy.
