Lauri was the first to mail us with news that Telltale are teasing us furiously via the medium of Gametrailers. A short footage stating “Bet you never thought these guys would get together”, followed by silhouettes of Him from Penny Arcade, Him from Sam ‘n’ Max, Him from Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People and – unless our eyes deceive us – him from Team Fortress 2. Holding – er – cards? They seem to be cards. What could it be? A videogame, that’s what. It’s not going to be a fridge decoration. We’ll know on September 2nd and the teaser trailer follows…
We’re going to look more stupid than normal if it’s a fridge decoration now, aren’t we?
Any guesses? Mine would be that the “get together” is meant in the carnal way, and it’s a four-way orgy featuring hot, steamy brand-on-brand action.

I believe that Telltale did a poker game before, so it could be a poker game featuring these characters. And I would be pretty disappointed.
28/08/2010 at 16:06 Craymen Edge says:
I too will be disappointed if it’s just another Texas Hold’em game.
28/08/2010 at 16:51 Taillefer says:
“And now they’re back, in their craaaziest adventure yet!”
I do hope it’s a better use of all those characters. I’d prefer fridge decorations.
28/08/2010 at 22:14 kenoxite says:
Magic Hold’em.
That’s my bet.
03/09/2010 at 04:31 LegendaryTeeth says:
Congratulations :(
28/08/2010 at 16:02 Drug Crazed Dropkick says:
I don’t think it is him from TF2. Body build isn’t right.
28/08/2010 at 16:05 Kieron Gillen says:
I dunno. It looks pretty close to me.

28/08/2010 at 16:07 Dominic White says:
Yeah, it’s totally the Heavy. He just looks a bit different because he’s not slouched due to carrying a gun the size of a man.
28/08/2010 at 16:32 Drug Crazed Dropkick says:
I disagree.
I’m prepared to be wrong, but I don’t think it is.
28/08/2010 at 17:01 Tacroy says:
Well that’s exactly why it can’t be a Heavy – where’s Sasha? Clearly, it must be a Spy whose puny frame couldn’t handle Sasha’s glorious love.
28/08/2010 at 17:03 The Archetype says:
@Dropkick
Actually, if he wasn’t so huge compared to the other characters I’d say it could be the demoman, based on the sillhouette.
28/08/2010 at 17:03 IAMJETHRO says:
Is so.
28/08/2010 at 18:14 HexagonalBolts says:
It is definitely the heavy, look closely and you can see the boots are the same, the trousers are the same, and he has a satchel on the left hand pocket in both pictures
28/08/2010 at 18:22 Nick says:
of course its the heavy, look at the size of his hands.
29/08/2010 at 22:49 qrter says:
Come on, ofcourse it’s the Heavy.. which other videogame character has that silhouette?
I can’t think of any that would be as famous or recognisable as the other three.
28/08/2010 at 16:04 Stochastic Gamer says:
Max / Tycho / Heavy / Strong Bad adventure game would be amazing. That rabbity thing is a spy!
28/08/2010 at 16:08 Skinlo says:
Looks a lot like the heavy.
28/08/2010 at 16:15 Unaco says:
Yeah… I’m going to go with some sort of Poker, or other card based game (do kids these days play Whist? Or Bridge?), simulator. They’ve made a card game before, and it looks like Tycho, Sam and the Heavy are holding cards in the video. Of course, the cards could just be a red herring.
28/08/2010 at 16:18 Celkiasian says:
They are just showing the characters with unique silhouettes. There is also Velma from Scooby Doo, an Innkeeper from M&B and a Radio Shack.
28/08/2010 at 23:07 Malawi Frontier Guard says:
Yeah, but which innkeeper? This is important.
28/08/2010 at 16:21 rfry11 says:
I really hope it’s an Adventure game set in the Wild West where you attempt to win back your deceased Uncle’s fortune after it was stolen from you due to a forged Will. You’ve hired these four heroes to help you derail trains, shoot up saloons, woo prostitutes, and rob banks until you find out who the notorious conman is who stole your rightful fortune. After revealing said man, a competitive Faro game starts where you have to win $250,000 from him, with your own personal financials at around $15,000.
..Or maybe it’s just a Poker game.
28/08/2010 at 16:35 DuckSauce says:
Heavy is spy!
I rather place my guess that is indeed the heavy based on the silhouet of the head, it looks right to me.
28/08/2010 at 16:44 CommanderZx2 says:
It is likelly to be a poker game, hopefully it will include awesome facial animations and the actual voice actor from TF2 for the Heavy.
28/08/2010 at 16:49 Frozenbyte says:
Bad & Max: Penny Fortress?
28/08/2010 at 16:51 no hands says:
A poker game would be silly – how would Strongbad possible hold the cards with those glove on? But yeah, it looks like a poker game. Silly.
28/08/2010 at 18:03 PleasingFungus says:
How could Strong Bad type with boxing gloves on?
28/08/2010 at 18:48 geldonyetich says:
He’s not wearing boxing gloves.
28/08/2010 at 16:51 Dain says:
We did have:

28/08/2010 at 16:52 Lambchops says:
Almost bound to be poker isn’t it? What with Jurrassic Park and Back to the Future games in the pipeline it’s hard to imagine them taking on anything much more taxing.
28/08/2010 at 17:07 Rich says:
I’d buy a poker game featuring the heavy, just tell me where to put my wallet :)
28/08/2010 at 17:18 VelvetFistIronGlove says:
The Heavy would be pretty poor at poker:
*looks at cards* OHH DIS IS BAAAD!
28/08/2010 at 17:49 SF Legend says:
“FOOL HOUSE! I BET THIS MANY SANDVICHES”
*everyone else folds*
28/08/2010 at 18:10 bleeters says:
Presumably he’d place wagers in firing durations.
28/08/2010 at 23:10 CMaster says:
WHY ARE LITTLE MEN ON CARDS?
28/08/2010 at 17:22 sfury says:
Gametrailers, you have failed me for the last time! Good thing someone already put it on YouTube – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvCgjfO1fO4&feature=player_embedded
If this really ends up to be only a poker game (esp with THESE characters) I’ll be very disappointed.
28/08/2010 at 17:23 sfury says:
…and sure as hell the video loaded when I posted and the page refreshed, no matter I refreshed it 5 times before that to no effect.
28/08/2010 at 17:43 tungstenHead says:
Poker or a CCG type game could be the combat, but I definitely expect something a lot more complicated overall. If it’s JUST poker it would be an incredible waste of all these licenses.
29/08/2010 at 19:11 LionsPhil says:
Wasting licenses on bad and undeveloped games is Telltale’s core competency.
28/08/2010 at 18:37 geldonyetich says:
After Kingdom Hearts, I’m largely immune to character crossover surprise.
28/08/2010 at 19:16 My name says:
Well, I wonder why there isn’t any mention of ToMI characters (OK, it might be a legal thing), but maybe the cards are the voodoo cards from the priestess?! ;)
28/08/2010 at 20:47 Chizu says:
Strip Poker.
It has to be.
28/08/2010 at 21:45 Carda says:
Never mind that at least one of the characters has the game-breaking advantage of starting with no clothes.
29/08/2010 at 00:33 somnolentsurfer says:
Comic-strip poker.
That or Valve are buying Tell Tale and Hothead.
29/08/2010 at 01:53 DJ Phantoon says:
No, you mean he loses instantly by having no clothes on. The point of strip poker isn’t to end up naked, it’s to make everyone else naked,
28/08/2010 at 22:30 Lucas says:
Do us all a favor RPS and don’t reprint announcements of announcements.
28/08/2010 at 23:20 Pokemanz says:
Just a reminder, Texas hold ‘em has 4 characters.
DUN DUN DUUUN!
29/08/2010 at 01:25 Jason Moyer says:
It has what?
29/08/2010 at 19:21 bob nobbs says:
No I think it has 12 characters
TEXAS(space don’t count)HOLD’EM
30/08/2010 at 01:01 Nick says:
It has four suits, other than that…
29/08/2010 at 01:03 hexapodium says:
Oh, please be Snap. Just so I get to hear “SNAP! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!” in the dulcet tones of a Russian who’s larger than the average family car.
29/08/2010 at 01:53 DJ Phantoon says:
Average? In what country??
29/08/2010 at 10:55 hexapodium says:
Well, I’m British, and attempting to learn to drive in a Nissan Micra from about 1985, so I’m going to say old UK family cars.
29/08/2010 at 01:24 mondomau says:
So. PA, TF2, Sam & Max, Strongbad.
and…
Poker.
Yaaaaawn.
29/08/2010 at 01:52 Matzerath says:
Strip poker and no Pyro?!
29/08/2010 at 03:03 joe says:
Perhaps you’d recognize the Heavy if he was wearing a stylish hat.
29/08/2010 at 03:04 joe says:
Doh, reply bug…the previous entry was meant to be in response to Drug Crazed Dropkick up above.
29/08/2010 at 03:10 sfox says:
Seeing the cards worries me that it’ll just be a Texas Hold Em game. Though the fact that they made a teaser video makes me hope otherwise, I mean why would they tease a card game, not many people would be excited about that.
29/08/2010 at 09:29 Vincent says:
Maybe a poker game… but not Texas Hold’em. Heavy is holding 3 cards in his hands, same for Tycho (although it’s hard to see exactly). Maybe another kind of game with cards… or no card games at all, what would be some good news (or not).
29/08/2010 at 09:39 JohnS says:
Come on… Strong Bad is not that short…
29/08/2010 at 12:00 zipdrive says:
“hot brand-on-brand action”.
Best line I’ve read this week.
29/08/2010 at 14:34 Inst says:
When I first looked at the image, I thought the dude from TF2 was clearly holding a CAKE!!! And I thought awesome!!!
But you are right, it’s cards, so it’s going to be a boring cards game. I doubt that the best cast ever will save a card game.
29/08/2010 at 17:26 PHeMoX says:
Actually that Poker game was pretty good fun to play in my humble opinion. Still needs more comments from the AI players, but it features some good humor.
29/08/2010 at 17:32 GarageGothic says:
My thoughts were more along the lines of a collectible card game with game characters, illustrated by the Penny Arcade guys. Not that I care either way, but… poker, really? That would be quite underwhelming. (Still, they’re bringing a friggin’ DeLorean to PAX, so here’s hoping there will at least be a teaser trailer for the BttF games, if not actual in-game footage)
29/08/2010 at 21:52 pakoito says:
PA already has a cardgame, based off dontremember system.
30/08/2010 at 11:39 binni says:
A TF2 themed Telltale adventure game would be a great idea.
