Fancy shooting this website to bits? Head here, add the bookmark, and then click it while on any site. WASD steers, Space shoots, and you can blast any at website you choose. (I’m amused to note our current ads are indestructible.) Why not go to any of our rivals and fire holes in their websites? And in the game. There doesn’t appear to be any authorship credit on the site, so thanks to whoever made this. And cheers to Kim for the tip.

Unfortunate side effect: After messing around for a while with it you are unable to comment and express your enthusiasm for this little time waster.
You’ll need to make the comment box Asteroid proof next time.

I just shot you in the name, John.

I find this amusing.
…I mean YOU FIEND SIR!
30/09/2010 at 01:04 LewieP says:
Of course, by posting a comment, you instantly make yourself a target. Pretty good game mechanic.
Please don’t shoot my face.
30/09/2010 at 01:19 Durkonkell says:
I do hope you realise that this caused me to instantly obliterate your face, followed by your name and post (and in the game etc.).
Sorry…

I shot you all in the names!

Curses. With all the names and pictures gone, all posts are context sensitive.

BOOM! Headshot. Sorry Lewie.
30/09/2010 at 01:01 Durkonkell says:
This is most excellent! I just expected it to make blocks of the screen disappear or something, not for it to actually modify the webpage I’m currently on, obliterating entire articles and frames.
For the record, it appears to be made by someone known as “erkie” who is probably known in reality as erik.rothoff or perhaps something similar.

Neat. Reminds me of a late 90′s SegaSoft PC app called Web Vengeance that let you blast holes in web pages with different weapons.

OK – time to make it more challenging…
Base score on the sum of the ascii value of text in the object destroyed – limit the game to 15 seconds after loading – store highscores by domain name – profit??

This is actually brilliant.

Seems like lately Metafilter has been getting the drop on you fellows. I heard about this from there before I saw it here. Which makes me sad because metafilter has like one person who has any clue when it comes to games.
