Someone gave us this last night. Seems as though a bunch of UK games journos, PRs and industry folk liked us a bit more than they did some other websites. Which is nice. We’re now going to chop this into four equal pieces, then grind it up and snort it.

15/10/2010 at 13:30 DMcCool says:
My word, well done old chaps.
15/10/2010 at 13:31 Po0py says:
Doesn’t RPS Louse get a cut?
You people are heartless.
15/10/2010 at 13:31 Urael says:
RPS: Optimus approved!
15/10/2010 at 13:34 Rii says:
Was Eurogamer’s award postmarked before or after they milked an interview with Kotick (not even their own) for a half-dozen separate news articles?
15/10/2010 at 13:36 Giant, fussy whingebag says:
Kieron doesn’t get a share, then? Serves him right, the lousy traitor!
15/10/2010 at 13:39 RaveTurned says:
I assumed they were given the award for getting Kieron to leave, thereby stopping him from putting the rest of the gaming press to shame. ;)
15/10/2010 at 13:42 Giant, fussy whingebag says:
Ah, makes sense.
15/10/2010 at 13:36 Surgeon says:
Congratulations gentleman!
Hopefully the first of many :D
15/10/2010 at 13:39 Surgeon says:
God damn you sausage fingers!
Congratulations gentlemen!
15/10/2010 at 13:37 DizzyDoo says:
Congrats chaps. One Life Left might have lost their Best Broadcast award, but at least there is a little justice!
15/10/2010 at 13:38 Auspex says:
Wait, it’s not even “Best Games Blog”, just “Games Blog”.
That’s not an award: that’s a description!
15/10/2010 at 14:26 stahlwerk says:
Also: a boring calendar.
15/10/2010 at 15:37 Pani says:
That comment made me giggle. Well noticed sir.
15/10/2010 at 15:37 sneetch says:
It used to read “A Games Blog 2010″ but they photo-shopped the “A” out.
Congratulations RPS!
15/10/2010 at 13:38 stahlwerk says:
At last, after 137 years of spreading the word of personal computer gaming, you get the recognition you rightfully deserve. Non-mechanical thumbs up!
15/10/2010 at 13:40 HexagonalBolts says:
It seems strange to think of RPS as a blog, the sheer amount of stuff you guys put up dwarves the amount of content traditional news websites put up on PC games, and that’s before you even cut out the amount of bland, uninteresting articles so many of them stuff themselves with.
15/10/2010 at 13:41 Lewie Procter says:
Save me a line please chaps.
15/10/2010 at 13:41 Brumisator says:
Funny how that picture looks badly photoshopped, complete with JPEG artifacts and overly-vivid text and all.
Congratulations! But you shouldn’t need a plexiglas object to remind you how much we, your readers love you.
15/10/2010 at 14:24 Baboonanza says:
And your readers love is much more important than recognition, fame, girls and money.
Isn’t it?
15/10/2010 at 15:04 woot says:
Wonderful use of text angles and perspectives – good effort, needs work, 6/10.
15/10/2010 at 17:38 Vague-rant says:
I was just about to comment that this was a higher standard of photoshopping than I expect from RPS in general. Doesn’t most RPS “photoshopping” generally use Paint?
15/10/2010 at 13:44 Man Raised By Puffins says:
Congratulations on being recognised as a “Games Blog” in 2010!
15/10/2010 at 13:47 Spoiler Duck says:
Don’t let them segregate your website into the “blog” category, maaaan! This is a snuff on the scale of Wall-E only being voted for best animated picture rather than best picture at the Oscars.
15/10/2010 at 13:56 VelvetFistIronGlove says:
Jolly good show, what!
15/10/2010 at 14:02 Alex Bakke says:
Yay.
15/10/2010 at 14:04 Rosti says:
Good tags that man. Keep up the ace “blogging”, Team Shotgun.
15/10/2010 at 14:09 Rob Hale says:
Congratulations on being a Games Blog in 2010!
15/10/2010 at 14:11 Tom O'Bedlam says:
Good work team!
15/10/2010 at 14:13 SuperBladesman says:
Nice work – always nice to see Minecraft winning awards. I mean RPS. ;)
15/10/2010 at 14:15 Jonathan says:
I miss Optimus Prime’s thumb of approval/disapproval. It doesn’t seem to get out much these days.
15/10/2010 at 14:17 Jonathan says:
Also, the linked article’s headine is a little off — my brain started to froth at “PC Zone heads roll.” Have they not suffered enough?
15/10/2010 at 14:16 squareking says:
I started reading RPS on the daily since the Sins coverage way back when. I’ve enjoyed it thoroughly since. Congrats, chums.
15/10/2010 at 14:16 Starky says:
Just think, in another hundred years you’ll be able to build a house with all those little perspex blocks – maybe even fill the gaps with lava for lighting.
15/10/2010 at 14:28 Gap Gen says:
Can guards see you through your GMA award?
15/10/2010 at 14:59 stahlwerk says:
this made me laugh harder than I thought it could. My regards, dear Sir.
15/10/2010 at 14:31 Pijama says:
FRABJUOUS CONGRATULATIONS
Also, snorting an award – that’s is the kind of rockstar attitude I can support of in my favorite gaming site.
As always, carry on with the greatness, gentlemen.
p.s. – WHERE IS YOUR KIERON NOW HUH HA HA HA HA HA silly bastard probably stole the award
15/10/2010 at 14:38 Lack_26 says:
You really should add ‘Best’ in front of that description, also now Kieron has left an ‘ever’ wouldn’t be inaccurate. Should make you feel better about beating RPS louse, anyway.
15/10/2010 at 14:46 Doggy says:
It actually says (worst) in front of Games Blog in microscopic text, written with ultra-violet ink.
15/10/2010 at 14:51 Navagon says:
Congratulations!
Don’t snort it all at once. Perspex dust and sinuses are not a merry combination.
15/10/2010 at 14:53 terry says:
Congratulations on your monolith.
15/10/2010 at 15:05 Tei says:
I wonder what is the lifetime of Perspex. Will post-Nuclear Winter cavemans find this in a river, and use it as his new God? I could see this item revered, and giving demands :-D
15/10/2010 at 16:07 Navagon says:
“We have the Holy Rock. We make the Holy Paper from righteously mashing the trees. But what is this shotgun you speak of, oh Lord? Bequeath your humble servants with the Knowledge to fulfil this Holy task.”

15/10/2010 at 17:46 Navagon says:
Army of Darkness: just when I thought it couldn’t get any better than Evil Dead 2.
15/10/2010 at 15:10 Richard Beer says:
Great news. Well deserved. I like your so-called blog very much.
15/10/2010 at 15:21 Joe Duck says:
Just imagine the poor chaps who blogged hard for a whole year hoping to one day be recognized as they deserved… only to lose their award to a Minecraft/Valve adoration shrine written by mistreated slave ghost bloggers.
Justice indeed.
Congrats RPS, hope the plexithingy turns out to be as useful as it looks.
15/10/2010 at 15:32 Hmm-Hmm. says:
Optimus approves. So do I.
15/10/2010 at 15:55 DMJ says:
A perspex trophy!
Recognition of hard work
Or cheap plastic tat?
15/10/2010 at 17:38 Navagon says:
BOTH
15/10/2010 at 17:16 jonfitt says:
Well done chaps!
15/10/2010 at 17:23 The Hammer says:
HURRAY!
Fantastic news, gents. I was rooting for you all the way. This has been a deserved award for a very long time now.
Also, I love that Mr Prime is sticking this thumb up there; nice hallmark of the site, there!
15/10/2010 at 17:28 oceanclub says:
Well deserved!
15/10/2010 at 17:36 panther says:
CONGRATS!
do you guys actually see yourselves as a blog? or something else?
15/10/2010 at 18:50 Malibu Stacey says:
Guessing you missed this articles tags then.
15/10/2010 at 18:02 Sagan says:
Congratulations. It’s well deserved. In fact you should have won last year already.
15/10/2010 at 18:49 FunkyBadger says:
I think the timing of this Award fully justifies the ousting of that neo-neo-journaliste Gillen and the reforming of the one true (Hive)Mind.
Long live the New Flesh etc.
15/10/2010 at 19:52 Nootrishus says:
Well done lads, very much deserved!
15/10/2010 at 20:06 The Dark One says:
Perspex really does sound a lot classier than ‘plexiglas’.
15/10/2010 at 20:28 Lambchops says:
Nice work folks.
15/10/2010 at 20:43 deanimate says:
Well done guys :)
Maybe now John Walker will share his delicious cat with the rest of you.
15/10/2010 at 21:01 Frye says:
I must confess at first I thought somebody ripped out the door of a nail salon. At least you will have no arguments about who gets to put it on their mantlepiece.
Congratulations guys.
Thanks for being a fun read and my favorite source for games stuff. (nearly used the word trivia there, phew!)
16/10/2010 at 03:04 cdm says:
Rack us up a line
16/10/2010 at 03:33 Kez says:
They gave you a disembodied Optimus Prime arm?
I suppose you could mount it on that plexiglass thing.
17/10/2010 at 09:11 harald74 says:
Congrats! Now you just need a bunch of wood and cobblestone blocks, and you can make a house!
