The only reson im giving this a 1 is beacuase the voices where pretty good. but thats it!
Essential viewing, folks. (Via half the bloody world on Twitter).
Oh, and while strict RPS policy is that we don’t accept freelance submissions – axman13, if you’re listening, please would you review something for us?

Posted on Reddit yesterday, on every other site on the internet today.
Still funny though.

Well done those other sites! Well done!

This comment is terrible, I’ve seen all of these words before on other websites

This comment is so terrible I’ve half a mind to make a flash animation based on a voice track of it.

You mean this is a WHOLE DAY OLD? Well, that just invalidates the funny. Thanks for pointing that out.

10 – 6 = 4
so it’s 4 days old.
That’s basic math dude.
10/01/2011 at 21:06 Shadram says:
I was referring to the time difference between the reported Reddit post and it hitting “every other site on the internet”. But let’s not get into a war of pedantry here, it never leads to fun times. Let’s just go watch the animation again and revel in its wondrousness.
10/01/2011 at 21:41 Flimgoblin says:
Not to be a horrible pedant… actually.. wait.. OK, being a horrible pedant: it was posted on newgrounds on the 6th, so frankly, internet, you can do better.

BLAM this piece of crap!
10/01/2011 at 17:33 Pijama says:
Honestly, after that, I would humbly suggest that RPS-Hivemind consider doing special “Wot I Thinks” with Shakespearean voice acting! (John could do it, right?) Hell, find an actor with a passion for gaming in a small Hamlet production and it’s done!
It would set a new standard for the gaming culture as a whole! =D

Haha, has anyone played the game the review was about? It’s hilarious. Not as gloriously meta as Achievement Unlocked, but the “Inspired by Sony’s God of War” made me giggle.
…also, I’m going to be spending farrrr too much time looking back on the old entries to that “Angry Internet Men” tag…
10/01/2011 at 18:12 Severian says:
Best part about this was that it got me to link back to Super PSTW Action RPG and play it. What a f’ing brilliant game. And once you play it, Axman’s review becomes even more precious.
10/01/2011 at 18:24 Sander Bos says:
What a terrible review. I mean, based on my 5 minutes of playing
http://www.gamersenterprise.com/play.php?act=play&id=2114&name=Super-PSTW-Action-RPG
there are no voices in it at all? Did the reviewer even play that game??
[Edit: Crap, 1 minute player later and the voices start :-( Pretty good review then.]
10/01/2011 at 18:31 Sander Bos says:
I am normally not a big fan of RPGs, but this one was pretty good!
10/01/2011 at 18:50 The Hammer says:
Yeah, it was a bit of a hark back to the days of Daggerfall and Fallout 2, I thought! When RPGs had really choice to them!

It really makes you think: Carl Orff wrote an operatic work based on Neitzsche’s ‘Thus Spake Zarathustra’ at the age of 17 (IIRC)…
When I was that age I was struggling with A-Level Maths and working in Waitrose.
Incidentally, if you’ve got the whole of Orff’s Carmina Burana cantata on CD or something, it works really well when playing The Witcher. I was wondering round the swampy bit, and when I got into a fight with a bunch of drowned dead the second bit ‘Fortune plango vulnera’ kicked in with the trumpets.
You know, it was just one of those special moments…
The rest of it’s all about getting drunk and laid. Great stuff.
10/01/2011 at 21:56 Starky says:
BLAM THIS PEACE OF CRAP!
- How is this an RPG anyway?
- In what way is this supposed to be an RPG?
- What if I didn’t want to buy the potion?
- Is it supposed to be stick dudes?
All meme worthy…
And the voice over guys voice reminds me of something/someone/a character I can’t place and it is bugging the hell out of me.
10/01/2011 at 22:04 The Hammer says:
You might be thinking of the old YTMND versus Ebaum’s World saga, Starky, when someone took Ebaum’s… inventive letter to YTMND’s founder, and voiced it all in hilariously theatrical tones.
Or I might just be totally off the mark.
10/01/2011 at 22:14 Starky says:
Nope, not that – I dunno, for some reason my brain keeps telling me it is a cartoon, or a character in one…
Probably a bad guy, but meh that is far as my brain will take me.
10/01/2011 at 23:09 Delusibeta says:
Are you thinking of the demon from the Reincarnation series of games? Certainly, he’s done a lot (see this demo reel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay6SOQU1vZQ )
11/01/2011 at 00:26 Shadram says:
He sounds to me a bit like Christopher Biggins trying to impersonate Brian Blessed. Definitely an undertone of campness there, which makes the whole thing a lot more special in my head. I want to hear this guy’s voice on everything now.
11/01/2011 at 01:21 Shadram says:
I’ve got it! He sounds like John Lithgow in 3rd Rock when he gets mad. Or as Farquad in Shrek. Watch the above-mentioned demo reel, though, this guy’s really, really good. I’m talking Billy West good. So many perfect voices, and he’s only 22…
11/01/2011 at 04:29 Starky says:
Damn he is pretty good… someone needs to hire him.
Beats the piss out of Nolan North anyway.
Though he’s not even close to Steve Blum or Simon Templeman (who really should be much more famous and doing movies) – but they are gods amongst voice over artists.
11/01/2011 at 16:04 Urthman says:
The way he says beacuase reminds me a lot of the way Strong Bad reads the typos in his e-mails.

Wow, Just looked up the dude doing the voicework and he’s basically just a 22 year old guy trying to make it in cartoon voiceovers and such. This guys has more vocal talents in his left toe than that Ted Williams hobo! Here’s hoping the internet will make him famous as well…
