Lego Star Wars III: The Pre-Emptive Trailer

Is that a young yoda?
The launch trailer for Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars arrives via BigDownload, and it looks rather lovely. Well, they are calling it the launch trailer, but I thought that was supposed to roughly coincide with, y’know, the launch? The third instalment of the third-person action-puzzler-that’s-probably-really-for-kids is out March 22nd in North America and March 25th in Europe. We’ll be telling you what we think of it around that time. (But it looks fun!)

I was all “The biggest Lego Star Wars battles ever? Ha. That’s not saying muc– oh, man that is quite a lot of dudes!”

/Insert gratuitous “there was more adventure and excitement in that 2 minute trailer than in any of the 8+ hours of film George Lucas has made in the last 20 years” comment here.

Not to say actual acting and interacting with the environment.

You are being too harsh, he had that pod race in Episode One! The one before Anakin saves the world, entirely by chance. And… Jar Jar Binks!

I saw a documentry saying that George Lucas took tips from the porno industry and how to make money from not putting to much effort. It seemed very correct.

    “And now, the whole family…

    …can feel the Force!”

That sentence seemed a bit disturbing to me, for some reason.

Despite my very deep early misgivings I am (*deep breath*)…a rather big fan of the Clone Wars series, upon which this is based. There have been some shockingly dull episodes, season three started terribly but seems to have recovered beautifully in its latter half – but overall the quality has been fairly high. This game is therefore a must -purchase.

Really? Have you caught the last couple eps with this whole wtf tangent of any shred of canon from books/movies with this super space station-planet of the force and two diametrically opposed siblings needing Anakin to “bring balance ala the prophecy” ?

I cringe. Please bring back ‘day in the life of a storm trooper’ style eps or anything at least that doesn’t seem like a guest writer is suddenly in control.

    I read that in a yoda voice…
