You may remember Quintin’s foray into the world of Ship Simulator Extremes last year. He really doesn’t know boats. But he does know bugs. A lot of the launch issues have apparently been ironed out since, and today they bring news of a DLC pack. Think of the most extreme boats in the world. No! More extreme than that! Extremier than you’ve ever dared to imagine! That’s right: ferries. Those bad boys, those bastards of the high seas, are now in there. There’s a trailer to prove it below!
The press release understands the gravity of this news. It states,
“New, ferry specific gameplay is waiting ahead. Prepare yourself now.”
But can we? HOW CAN WE?!
But maybe they meant financially. The new content is bloody expensive. For the following,
- 5 new Ferry types (Fast, Channel, River, etc.) available in Campaign, Free Roam and Multiplayer mode.
- Ferry specific gameplay: Ferry ramp & door opening for loading/unloading, Directional switch for two-ender ferries, etc.
- New Ferry campaign featuring 10 missions all over the world
- Ferry mission functionality added to the Mission Editor, allowing for creation and sharing of Ferry specific missions
you’ll be paying $14.99 or €14.99 (which seems a little unfair, since €15 is currently worth $20).
The full game costs a hefty amount for such a niche topic at €40 ($55, £35). They say they’ve sold 550,000 copies across the series of three games, so kudos to Paradox there. So it’s quite an investment if you want to deliver passengers back and forth. It’s due out on the 8th March, and it looks like this:
If anyone can withstand the HIGH DRAMA music over the extraordinarily low speed movement without laughing, they’re a better person than me.
