The latest TIGSource competition, this time with a theme of “versus” is now open for voting, with eighty-something (count ‘em!) entries up for your voting attention. There are some strong entries in there, such as the philosophically significant Jesus vs Dinosaurs, the attractively cloudy Brigands, of the peculiarly conflicted Tetris Fight Club. Experimental! Indie! Affirmative!

Never mind the games – that picture has clearly already won.

yeah, picture of the day indeed.
Sword fighting monkeys, classy.

Indeed. I want a game with sword wielding monkeys in zoot suits now.

It looks familiar, where would I have seen it before? I have a feeling RPS has used it in the past. (I’m certainly not complaining about it being re-posted!)

‘Crevice Climbers’? Seriously?

Take your pick, MD.

I demand Nidhogg is reskinned to look like the story’s image!

I have no idea what “peculiarly conflicted” even means…

So that’s my evening gone, then.

Personally, i’ve had most fun with 0space. It takes a while to get the hang of the controls, but once you do, and as long as you can get a friend or two in on it, it’s tremendous fun. Best multiplayer experience i’ve had in a while, in fact. It’s also very polished.

I can recommend Hempuli’s “Masjin” – not sure how hard it is to find a server, but it was pretty good when I played it and it seems to have only gotten better since. Real Time Chess is exactly what it says on the tin, which is good for a few minutes’ amusement.
