Tesla: The Weather Man is a side-scrolling platformer in which the godfather of electricity must save himself from his arch enemy by using weather manipulation techniques. Hmm, yes, occasionally the developer-supplied description of a game will do: “Use weather control powers to stop Thomas Edison and his army of DC-powered robots! You play as Nikola Tesla after the triumph of alternating current has sent Edison into a violent rage.” There’s a demo.
And a video below, of course.

Sooo what you are saying is this is a game based on historical fact? Sounds good to me

I respect these people with all my heart.

Oh my goodness, I have to own this NOW. I have not felt this way in a loooong time. But Tesla fighting robot dinosaurs with the aid of the Sun and pigeons is a must-buy.

Is that Mark Twain starring in the tutorial dialogue?

Oh, why must this game be a platformer. I want to play it! (This is not me having disdain for platformers, this is me acknowledging that I have the hand-eye coordination of a potato, and not the sort of potato that gets invited into Portal 2 ARGs).
I suppose I shall have to live vicariously through other people playing it and posting videos.

Tesla vs Edison you say? I’m totally on that, Tesla’s the man.

If he stopped T.Edison, then Americans would have 50 Hz mains like the normal world. Alas.

best indie game I played this month

Love that trailer – for a while the art style bothered me, but there was so much beautiful SILLY and interesting mechanics, that I stopped worrying about art and just enjoyed the ride.
PS: HARNESS THE SUN. FOR JUSTICE.

Yes, that’s Sam Clemens as the Narrator, which is curious since I recall that he and Edison were friends.
Also, I don’t think I could ever make something with a premise as awesome as this.
report
Actually no, Twain and Tesla were friends. Very good friends actually.
Here is Twain in Tesla’s lab:
