Fancy a taste of Ice Pick Lodge’s surreal puzzle adventure thing, Cargo!? I know that you do, and you are in lucky on this fine morning because an 800mb demo has materialised both on the main site, and at some other mirrors.
Cargo! is quite the game, as Quintin explained in his recent article: “Cargo is really a game about surprises. The surreal setting is forever dropping bizarre and brilliant turns of events into your lap, giving the game a mad momentum which is absolutely the best reason to play it.”

This game’s pretty sweet.

Shame about the tedious sections of the game.
I couldnt really force myself to get past the section where i had to retrieve 15 buddies with my completely uncontrollable submarine.

But there’s so much FUN when you collect them!

I took a weeklong break at the very same spot, but I soldiered on and it was worth it

The stuff that happens when you get the buddies into the volcanoes is brilliants.
Were you using the default submarine blueprint? I never found it hard to control.

800mb is a lot for a demo -__-

Not these days. Most demos are at least a gig now. Shogun 2 has a 6 gig demo.

Cryosleep can be unsettling uh?
Welcome to 2011, where games are on DVDs and demos are usually much more than the size of a CD-rom. :P

This game is very boring. The entire game feels like a giant demo.
20/05/2011 at 16:58 KaL_YoshiKa says:
So either the demo is the whole game…or it’s an extremely short demo. I don’t know it just felt like the game was extremely short and light on content especially compared to their much meatier early titles.

It’s one season, so…1/6 or so of the game, assuming the latter ones are bigger and more complicated? Anyone who owns it want to weigh in?
It also has a sandbox so you can have the Fun from making uncontrollable chimera vehicles (except boats and submarines because ice), and get bored enough of it to doubt if you’d want the full game.

This game is utterly demented and I love it. Gonna have to buy the full version so I can see what all the submarine fuss is about.
And I have to finally get of my ass and snag a copy of Pathologic while I’m at it, because one can never have too many frustrating, depressing games.
20/05/2011 at 20:26 Deadend says:
That was odd.
I’d say it was Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts with less slick and more crazy. And a strange sense of something WRONG lurking under the game. Like a clown who is really a psycho-killer (so, all clowns).
