Sleepless: New The Dream Machine Footage

By John Walker on September 6th, 2011 at 9:32 am.

This is where I watch you sleeping.

A new trailer for the wonderful The Dream Machine has appeared, which rather nonchalantly includes lots of new footage from the forthcoming chapter 3. Which looks… intriguing. The Dream Machine is one of the best written and most interesting adventure games in years, built entirely out of clay and cardboard, and glacially released in chapters. However, the new footage also contains the surprise at the end that the game will be appearing on Steam toward the end of this year.

Chapter 1 is free, so there is no excuse whatsoever for not playing. Chapter 2 is brilliant, so there’s no excuse for not playing that either. And perhaps we’ll finally see the third of five chapters along with the Steam release. Meanwhile, here’s the latest trailer of a game you really ought to be playing:

You can find out why I think the game’s so special here.

    Bought it, played it, loved it, showed it to my little sister. Both of us have now been eagerly awaiting chapter 3 for… a year? “Coming soon”! Their cruelty pains me.

  2. Baboonanza says:

    I bought this yonks ago and haven’t got around to playing it yet. I really should make time…

    • TWeaK says:

      Ditto for me as well. I’ve even been telling loads of people about how awesome it is and I don’t think I’ve installed it!

    • Stupot815 says:

      @TWeaK, You don’t have to install it. It’s browser-based.

      I’m looking forward to this… but, damn, I wish they’d hurry up. ;P

  3. The Sombrero Kid says:

    i’ll prolly wait till chapter 3′s out & have a good chunk to play at once.

    The Steam thing may be sooner than later – I finally played Chapter 1 (had it bookmarked for months) and at the end it’s got a search for Dream Machine on Steam button … which does a Steam search and ends up with nothing, but I’d not expect them to have that up at the end of the Chapter if it’s not coming ‘Soon’.

  5. Navagon says:

    Oh thank Horace for that then. I thought this went under.
