Vlambeer’s Serious Sam spin-off/remake/demake/upmake/downmake/JRPGmake Serious Sam: The Random Encounter was always a bit of a bonkers proposition. The gameplay trailer (below) hasn’t really done much to change that perception. It is quite random.
And it looks totally awesome. Vlambeer say: “The game’ll launch on Steam & some other digital distribution platforms October 24th for $4.99. We’re pretty damned excited, that’s our first commercial release, I think.” They’re right.

Ok what!!! This looks incredible. I thought it would be more like FF games, but there’s a bit of action/strategy to it.

Hum? If they can pull off that mix between JRPG tactical-multiple choice and, well, serious action, this might be more than just fun. A lesson to be learned, so to speak (the best lessons are learned by completely weird projects anyway).
