Gotham City Impostors, the other Batman game, has a release date. It’s the 10th January 2012, which sounds like it’s a hundred years in the future, but is in fact in exactly two months.
This is the sort-of-like-TF2-a-bit online shooter from Monolithic, who suddenly remembered they’re at their best when having fun, rather than being all gloomy and serious. Will we be having fun with this? We’ve no idea yet, because we haven’t played it. But there will be opportunities to do so, probably from December when the beta is “expected” to go live. To celebrate there’s a new sreenshot, which is, er, poorly taken. You can see the full size version by clicking on the pic above, and leave your screenshot-taking guides for not leaving the centre of the image mostly empty below.

Haven’t Monolith recently ceased to exist? I heard they and Snowblind were merged into a megastudio.

On the roof of that building – Lucius Fox has really outdone himself this time.

Giant enemy crab? Attack its weak point for massive damage!

This will probably still arrive before Arkham City if Warner keeps their schedule of delaying Arkham City by one week each week.

I cancelled my pre-order a couple days ago and put the $40 towards Skyrim. If they are going to make me wait that long for Batman, then I might as well just wait for a sale. Their loss, not mine.

Check the url in that first link, it points to some typo-squatting spam blog, there should be an ‘o’ rather than an ‘e’ in impostors.

Holy spandex, Batman; he’s right!

I’m glad to see ol’ Monolith back in the game. I’ve loved all of their games except for Fear 2 (which was oddly bland) and that weird third person Ice-T game, Sanity.
That said, this does look a little TF2ish, and I’m not sure the internet is big enough for the both of ‘em.

Maybe they recently merged with Mythic?

This really looks like a poorly done (okay average) Garry’s Mod screenshot. I’m pretty sure that makes me like this game more.

I was kinda looking forward to this, but GFWL. :-(

I wish they were having fun with Cate Archer.
I’d settle for this sans GFWL and persistence though, but even that is sadly asking too much. It does seem to feature a GEC however…
