Oh: Here Is A Spec Ops Trailer

By Jim Rossignol on November 22nd, 2011 at 2:51 pm.

Get these normal maps off me, or I'll shoot!
You might well have noticed that Craig had a look at Spec Ops for us, and wrote about it. 2K have now also released a trailer, which contains a large quotient of noise and fury, ending on what appears to be a supernatural (?) note. It’s a bit weird. Go take a look.

Also there was a nod to th Fallout 3 trailer

  2. G_Man_007 says:

GI Joe: Rise of The Line

  3. YanDaik says:

    Mordor against Spec Ops?

  4. ArtyFishal says:

    What the hell was that?!

  5. Scare Tactics says:

Guy in the pic looks like Bear Grylls

  6. Calneon says:

    Shepherd?

  7. g33kz0rd says:

Gear of Warfare: Fear of Effect

  8. Monkey says:

    MEH.

    Modern Everyday Hash

  9. Lagwolf says:

One of the worse trailers I have seen in a long time. It says precisely nothing.

    • Manburger says:

I don’t know about that. I feel like it conveys what the game is going for thematically in a heavy-handed fashion. Though I guess you meant what the game actually plays like. That is true.
But a gameplay trailer does exsist.
Get ready to shoot some men in the face and neck!

    • Radiant says:

Or in the shoulder if you are as good at these games as I am.

    • Hoaxfish says:

I think both trailers together make quite an attractive wtf game possibility.

However, if it’s not Call of Cthulhu: Black Ops I’m going to be sorely disappointed.

  10. Juiceman says:

Nice to know this game is still being made. Haven’t seen anything new, until today, since E3 2010 I think.

  11. Hoaxfish says:

So many post-apocalyptic TV channels… and there’s still nothing on

  12. Network Crayon says:

I can’t get over how many Shaved, slightly bearded men there are in video games. it’s farcical.

  13. coldvvvave says:

    He has hair!

  14. The Innocent says:

Dubai sure has a lot of enormous flatscreens.

I was more interested in this game around the time of the premiere trailer from back at the end of 2009. I wonder who thought this trailer would appeal to anyone.

    • theleif says:

It made me interested in knowing more of the game, so that’s +1 for them.

  15. Ross Angus says:

I wonder if (for better or worse) this is what Davey Wrenden was talking about to Robert Yang: the idea of AAA titles being influenced by indie games. Sure, shoot people in the face, but what does it mean?

  16. Magnetude says:

    [ ] Interesting setting
    [ ] Interesting gameplay

Tick ONE box… I love the mood the trailer is giving off but 3rd person shooters are booooring. If this was a Deus Ex style immersive sim my pre-order would be unstoppable.

  17. Shooop says:

No one asked for this. This trailer does a good job of explaining why.

  18. JakeOfRavenclaw says:

I liked the part where Commander Shepard opened an Oblivion gate. (Seriously though, what the hell was that? This seems like an attempt at an “artistic” trailer gone terrible wrong).

  19. shoot the rabbit says:

Of course there’s wrecked cars all over the place, you put movie screens next to the highway.

  20. Dana says:

I have no idea what the hell kind of game is this. Thanks trailer.

  21. Ezhar says:

    Is that Half-Life’s citadel?

  22. WhataShame says:

Say what again? A city in the middle of the desert, consumed by a sand storm, ominously voiced bad guy from another trailer, and a team of military man sent there to sort out the mess?

Reminds me of Jericho. They sure have this supernatural vibe in the trailer, so who knows, maybe it won’t be that usual brownmiddleeastshooter.

  23. Dath says:

“Embedding disabled by request” is quite annoying.

  24. Madlukelcm says:

    Video is private? :’(

    • caddyB says:

Why would they do that now?

      Oo

    • JiminyJickers says:

Yeah that is a bit strange. Well, my money is private too and they probably wont be seeing it either.

    • Ilinx says:

We’re not even allowed to see their marketing material then? Oh well, pennies saved :)
