Cliffski’s complex take on the tower-defence genre has arrived on Steam (and can still of course be purchased directly from the developer) and that event has been celebrate with a bombastic new trailer, which you can see below. Well, I say bombastic, and that’s true of the battle bits, but it is also honest, showing you a quiet bit where Cliff is clicking through the many menus that allow you to endlessly customise the titular tank battles. Anyway, it’s out, and you can read a bit about what Tim Stone made of the game over here.
See what I mean about the menus? Come on now, developers, show us your menus in the trailer! I mean it. And there’s no demo yet, but I suspect one is on the way.

I can’t tell what’s happening in most of this video. But then I feel that about most games made after 1994… and quite a few before then.

Gratituous Space Battles was a fine indie, this one will get my support.

Looks very interesting still, but waiting for a demo before jumping in.

I always think the Gratuitous part in the title is misleading…

True! where tanks and battles are concerned, one can never have enough.

I’ll wait until it’s at half price, €19 is too expensive for me.
18/05/2012 at 19:12 kibertoad says:
It’s much cheaper on Steam (for some reason I got my comment deleted on Cliff’s blog when I mentioned that).
21/05/2012 at 13:37 Kanakotka says:
Entirely not surprised at cliff doing that. He’s a bit of a tosser.

although i’ve eagerly awaited this game’s launch, i find myself in the same predicament.
but hey, bargain hunting is fun!

Yeah and I’m not in a hurry, still have a lot of other games to play.

GTB was my regret-purchase this year (at full price at least), and wasn’t as fun as GSB. If you’re on the fence, wait for a demo.

Really it’s a tower defense no matter how you dress it up, he should have gone on with his original idea of a WW1 game so for that reason….I’m out.

Cliffski sure hasn’t learned anything over the years, has he?
No demo means no sale in my book, just going to have to wait to see whether appears first, an actual demo, or a pirate group bothering to crack the game.
Not to be mean to the guy, but i certainly am not spending 20 of my hard earned currencies on something i haven’t had even the slightest hand-on experiences with.
Though, knowing cliffski, he’ll likely rage at opinions like this.
