Sega have announced the tracklist for Jet Set Radio HD (will it be called Jet Grind Radio again in the US?), which will be arriving on PC later this year. There’s also a new trailer to celebrate this fact, which you can see below. It’s apparently some kind of amalgamation of the tracklisting from the various versions of the game that were released around the world when it first appeared on the Dreamcast.
Man, the year 2000 seems like a long time ago…

JSR on my PC?
Yay, news of E3.

somewhat older news actually

Original soundtrack?
I”M THROWING MY MONEY AT THE SCREEN, BUT NOTHING IS HAPPENING.
04/06/2012 at 10:19 RvLeshrac says:
Also: I swear I remember B-boy Document ’99 on the JGR soundtrack, am I remembering a THPS game?
ed: Answered my own question: THPS2 soundtrack.
04/06/2012 at 10:21 Dextro says:
Sega should just shut up and take my money already.
And by that I mean: just release the damn thing!
04/06/2012 at 10:27 RvLeshrac says:
I’m glad they learned their lesson from CTHD.

Something about that art style is giving me a “Tag: The power of paint” vibe
04/06/2012 at 10:26 RvLeshrac says:
You know what that style gives me? A “Jet Set Radio” vibe.
04/06/2012 at 10:28 Jamesworkshop says:
You don’t say
Why only a vibe by the way
04/06/2012 at 10:34 RvLeshrac says:
Well, it was released 9 years before Tag, so the fact that it looks just like it did originally has faded into a vibe over time.
04/06/2012 at 11:49 ghling says:
so it took sega only 9 Years to port that game from (I’d guess) PS1 to PC? Awesome!

No “Concept of Love”? Damn.
Anyway, this is one of those games I’m really looking forwards to.
[E] Just realized it was in JSRF, not the original. Move on.

Please get back together J5.
05/06/2012 at 00:01 ulix says:
Oh yeah!
While Chali 2na has released some decent solo stuff, none of the others have (or have they?). Would love me some Akil the MC album…
04/06/2012 at 10:39 Okami says:
Aaaand of course the video can’t be seen in germany, due to copyright reasons.
04/06/2012 at 10:47 Vexing Vision says:
This is very true and very unfortunate, and also shouldn’t happen to original soundtracks.
04/06/2012 at 10:56 RvLeshrac says:
Chances are good that it can’t be seen in Germany since they’re liable to be put to death should they violate one of the 4.682 trillion laws regarding what you can’t display there.
04/06/2012 at 12:31 Okami says:
*sigh* so not funny

‘One of the 4.682 trillion laws regarding what you can’t display there’. From the country that brought you niche-pornography.

It’s OK as long as the bundles of thrashing limbs doesn’t form the outline of a Swastika in any frame.

But that’s what proxtube is for.
05/06/2012 at 00:02 ulix says:
You’ve heard of Proxtube, right?

When Rob Zombie’s Dragula started I felt like I was back in 98 watching Matrix. Damn that soundtrack.

No let the bodies hit the floor or Skillrex? Preorder cancelled.
04/06/2012 at 16:48 Sparkasaurusmex says:
Funny… I might’ve canceled for the opposite reason
04/06/2012 at 23:41 Tams80 says:
Skillrex was 12 when JSR was released so of course he’s not on the original soundtrack.
I agree with Sparkasaurusmex. Those two atrocities to music (in my opinion of course) would make me not want to touch it with a barge pole.
05/06/2012 at 00:48 Net_Bastard says:
Seriously guys? It’s obvious that he’s joking.
04/06/2012 at 12:11 adonf says:
But, Jim, this is the year 2000. See the original Playstation logo at the end of the video?
04/06/2012 at 13:03 Bhazor says:
Oh Smilebit, where art thou? One of my all time favourite studios of the Xbox generation with JSRF and Panzer Dragoon Orta being two of the consoles most under rated classics.

I’ll never forgive Sega for abducting them and making them do the fucking Sonic vs Mario series.
04/06/2012 at 14:01 Dilapinated says:
I miss Smilebit, too. :/ Some of the most interesting games of their (console) generation.
04/06/2012 at 13:17 Nick says:
I hope (but doubt) you can add your own music to the PC version, I’d love to throw in a few of the JSRF tracks as well.
04/06/2012 at 13:21 fish99 says:
Hope they being JSRF to the PC too.
04/06/2012 at 14:57 PodX140 says:
This. JSRF was a masterpiece, I loved it to death as a kid (Hell, was the xbox really that long ago? Damn I feel old). I got it on a double disk with Sega racing, which was great because my brother loved the racing and I loved JSRF, so it took quite a bit (I think the original halo finally kicked it) for it to finally leave the CD tray.
04/06/2012 at 17:46 Nick says:
That double disc came free with my Xbox and JSRF was probably the best game I ever played on it.

I actually got one of Guitar Vader’s albums on import on the strength of their songs on JSR.
It wasn’t worth it :\
04/06/2012 at 18:54 Jason Moyer says:
Guitar Vader were a great band. I’m highly disappointed they don’t seem to be in the track list for this remake.
Edit: N/m, I didn’t see they have their own section. Yay.

this is the horrific USA soundtrack, the original EU soundtrack was better (mostly due to lacking the woefully out of place industrial metal)
05/06/2012 at 00:03 ulix says:
Did the original EU soundtrack have Jurassic 5 on it? If not, your point is moot.
05/06/2012 at 02:40 Dilapinated says:
As much as I have a warm fluffy nostalgia for Dragula, I’ve gotta agree that it doesn’t really fit with JSR.
05/06/2012 at 00:48 Net_Bastard says:
Kinda wished that they did a texture res increase.
