Awesome: Awesomenauts Coming To Steam Soon

By Adam Smith on July 16th, 2012 at 6:00 pm.

Awesomenauts sure sounds happy about its impending PC release, with guitars going widdly-wee while a man sings a tale of wonder and glory. For some reason I imagine he’s a centaur with a cleft chin and a flowing mane of golden hair, standing on top of a hill and ripping the heck out of a Les Paul. Whether that’s a factual description or not, he’s certainly not the only creature happy about the release of the side-scrolling action RTS thing. The announcement trailer contains quotes from people demanding the release, including a personal favourite: “I wanna it for PC”. Well now you’re gonna to get it for PC. Release should be within a month.

I haven’t played it, as you might be able to tell by my vague description, but lots of people enjoy it and maybe you’ll add to their number.

Lovely, I was hoping to get to play Awesomenauts! Seems like it could be a good way to get my less patient friends into MOBAs too.

    This sounds awesome.

  3. Jahandar says:

Wow, lots of dramatic exposition in that video. Took 2/3 of it before it showed what the game looks like.

  4. Kollega says:

The characters and environments kind of remind me of Ratchet & Clank. I like. Don’t know if i’ll be buying it or not, though… i have enough games as it is.

EDIT: After peeking at the character page, i think that i might actually buy that. At the very least, i’ll be trying out a demo. The descriptions sound hilarious.

I played the demo on the PS3. I like the style. The gameplay is rather shallow in the demo, but I’m guessing it gets more interesting once more stuff opens up. But the voice acting… Terrible. Resident Evil bad. Old Resident Evil. The cowboy guy’s voice turned me off of the whole game. I’d rather listen to Mario’s sex noises.

I felt the same way after playing the demo, but then my kids played it, insisted I get the full thing and now we fire it up most weekends, sing the theme, do all the voices and generally have a splendid time – “pwning noobs” I think they call it.

That is how you name a game.

I know I should not fall for nice and flashy trailers, but this song… I must have this game.

Is this going to be pay to play? In the dota space? They’re going to find out hard to compete.

I was expecting a PC release, that’s why I held off on the console version.

Sweet, it’s pretty good especially for a Dutch developed game ;)

Trailer song sounds like Yes in the 80s. Only sillier.
