Psychic Tower Defence: Shad’O

By Jim Rossignol on August 10th, 2012 at 9:00 pm.

My memories do look a bit like that, to be fair.
Sometimes I need to explain why a tower defence remix is different to the last five. Other times I just have to share the description of the game: “Shad’O is an original Tower defense game … in which you will have to help William, a nine years old boy lost in his own mind, to save his memory. He will be assisted by his luminous companions in order to remember what happened to him.” That might be the best plot for a tower defence game yet. And of course it means it’s a tower defence game about light and shadow. (Which I am sure I’ve seen somewhere else recently.) The trailer, below, shows how that works. Perhaps not the best voice acting, but at least it has a strong mechanic to back things up.

The game should apparently arrive a little later this year.

Well, I really like the music, and it’s thematically interesting. Now to wait and see if it’s a good game.

That’s the worst set up for anything since Super Ted.

I’m not sure of the setting, would it be based in a stately residence imitating a distinctively French castle?

    AKA Shad’o in a Chateau.

It may also take place during an oriental tea ceremony. (Chado/Sado)

Not a sequel to Shaq Fu

Kind of burnt out on tower defense. I like the ones where you can take an active role, like Orcs Must Die and to a lesser degree Sanctum and Dungeon Defenders.

This is a tiny genre, the other TD game with story is Inmortal Defense :D

It had me on “AN IMMERSIVE STORYTELLING”.

Now with even less Ed Straker.

Interface looks like it was made for tablets.

IS THIS MADE FOR TABLETS? I have no idea, but tower defense is for babbies anyway. Pass.
