Lovely-looking 4-player co-op dungeon-crawler Legend Of Dungeon – a beat ‘em up/roguelike that mixes pixel-art with 3D lighting – has a playable demo, which you can play in a browser here. The team are also taking the project to Kickstarter, as they explain: “We are kickstarting the game to pay the composer, purchase Unity Pro, buy a new dev machine, and of course, more coffee.”
I’ve posted their pitch video below.

3 minutes in and I’m trapped in the ladies toilet while the dwarf tries to beat it’s way in to harrass me. I couldn’t get out through the main stairs as aforesaid dwarf had already barged the table across the room exit while chasing me round the room. I was able to pick up the apples the dwarf knocked off the table though. Protip : Don’t test the controls while you are stood near NPCs.
I rock at games!

…and in the game?

Do the Apples that she is holding so weirdly, mean something?

They can be eaten to recover health, as is so often the case with videogame apples.

Oh, in the video. No idea about that.

Are they using NES controllers?
21/11/2012 at 14:32 golem09 says:
I’m using my SNES controller for Spelunky, would be nice if this was optimized for a similar control scheme

I just used a PS2 controller (D-pad + 4 front buttons) to play the demo, it will definitely work with a SNES one.

Bah, the Unity Web Player won’t load in my version of Chrome for some reason :(
21/11/2012 at 14:59 Rawrian says:
Hmm, it looks nice, but the combat-y part of gameplay is sort of slow and too simple. Go into a room, slash at snake, pick up tiny stuffs, go to next room.

I’m not sure I can in good conscience give anything to a man with a wispy double goatee.
