Black Hole Fun: Bit.Trip Void

There probably aren’t enough capital letters in that headline. Gaijin Games’ rhythm action releases do insist on themselves. It’s all ‘BIT.TRIP this’ and ‘BIT.TRIP that’ in the titles, which is odd because the games themselves are much more careful about making a racket. Void was the third entry in the series over in Nintendo land and it’s the third released on PC as well, although the fourth was released as the second. Forget all that though because there’s sod all continuity between entries and little plot to speak of, as the video below demonstrates.

Shouty-loud BIT.TRIP VOID is available on Steam for £6.29 or £8.09 with soundtrack. The price will rise to £6.99/£8.99 on January 4th and Gaijin are also taking preorders for BIT.TRIP Runner2. That’s out on the first of March.

Actually, Void is the 4th release to hit the PC. Bit.Trip Core came out in October and was the 3rd PC release (2nd on the Wii.)

There is (very loosely) a plot surrounding Captain Video but it’s a pretty esoteric way of storytelling.

Actually, mfcrocker, the plot becomes a lot more clearer by the time you play RUNNER and later. BEAT, CORE, and VOID are definitely esoteric though.

I think the devs behind these games secretly enjoy giving people seizures. Merry Christmas, epileptic gamers of the world.
