Sometimes you don’t always get a chance to save the game. Like in the old C&C, the choices came after a mission ended, so if you didn’t quite save before the end of every missions, you could get caught out a bit. I guess most games nowadays are better in that regard (hopefully). I personally quite like choices like that, even though they don’t often make much difference in the long term.

Frontlines: Fuel of War is IMHO, a very good game. On the lines of Battlefield 2, but much much less luck, and withouth love from the community because some arcane details.

In other news. Allods is on “closed beta” (read: open beta), and has interesting graphics. I can’t recoment it, cause is boring combat, but I recomend to check it for the wow/cartony graphics. The evil faction is somewhat like “steam punk evil”, and is awesome.
