Why not just re-register and put something in your old sig to the effect that you're no going by a new name?

There are no mods, and even if there were you'd need admins to change your name, not mods.

The admins are the RPS writers. PM Jim and see if he'll do it for you.

Ah, ok. Another forum I use, the term admin is swapped around with mod quite freely. I'm sorry.
