It's the part of his helmet just over his right eye (on our left), which together with his eye and eyebrow makes a wolf's (Edit: or dog. Whatever) head. His iris is the lower jaw, his eyebrow is the tongue, and the upper jaw, nose and eyes are patterns in the metal.
