Say something so astoundingly awful that there is no option other than to permanently ban you.

(I have no idea how to delete an account.)

Open Notepad.

Type in some gibberish, like sgsv0inssdg. Copy it and close Notepad, forgetting what you typed.

Go to 'Settings' in the menu at the top.

Find "edit e-mail and password".

Paste the gibberish you copied from notepad into both new password fields.

Save changes.

Log out.

Go to your email client and set up a filter to immediately direct all forum-related e-mails to trash.

Your account won't be deleted, but you can't get back into it, and you won't be bothered by it, which is pretty much the same as deleting it.

There is no escape from the iron fist of RPS. Probably.

I'd guess just write them a nice email asking to delete your account.

I really would like to delete my account. Just leaving accounts open means they are liable to eventually get hacked. If I'm not using it anymore, why can't I delete it?

I suppose I could go off on some profane rant if that would help, but that seems kind of childish and pointless, when it could just be done the right way.

I e-maile the administrator. Nothing yet. Would you please report my post right here; maybe somebody will see it.

What would you lose if an account that no longer bore any relationship to you suddenly got hacked?

Maybe he made the fatal mistake of using the same password for everything.

Because his account on this forum is part of his identity. If someone were to break into these forums and steal his account, they could effectively write posts under his identity. This could be very annoying for him, and could get him in some trouble.

Now, he does have a really generic nickname, which makes it hard to uniquely identify him. Even then, though, I can see why he'd rather have his account permanently deleted. It's a bit like having some unused harddrives around: you could format them, or you could keep them and potentially risk someone getting some 'interesting' data off them. Better be safe than sorry, I guess.

Well, it looks like s/he got it done somehow. His/her name is no longer a clickable link, which means the profile page no longer exists.

Hey, let's all say mean things about whoever that guy was now that he's gone.

I think he had a big stupid nose. Like a trunk.

Maybe he's now King of the Moon and is building a big moon-doom ray to destroy us all!
