I would put this in the relevant feedback thread but it kinda crosses both. So:

Have a 'recent comments' box on the forum page akin to that on the front page.

Have a 'recent forum posts' (or possibly 'recently active threads') box on the front page.

..and everyone else happy. I for one cant do anything with the comments on the front page. Theyre disorderly and impossible to keep track of.

Could we also have a box (or maybe tag system or something) where you can look up articles by which lobe/node of the hivemind wrote them? I've just had a number of times where I've wanted to go back to an article and known who wrote it, but not the title of the article or the game featured.

Maybe that's just me though.

Can't seem to get it to work for Kieron, Dan Grill or Tim Stone, but it should work for other occasional contributors too.

Edit: Wait, Alec's and Jim's don't work either, you'll need their secret codenames.

Two thoughts. Well, one thought twice:

1) I don't suppose the mailto links on the author names at the top of each story get much use. It might be a good idea to make those link to that author's posts instead.

I'm not sure how Rii's suggestions would help, seeing as they don't concern the front page.

Rii's idea is actually pretty good -- I might have started reading the forum sooner (instead of reading RPS for 2 years before posting here) if there were some links to interesting posts.

Of course if it just showed the Most Recent Forum Posts, they might be interesting in all kinds of less flattering ways. :D

Thanks folks! Wealth of information, you lot...

And I agree Jams - 'tis one of the reasons I asked, since I've instinctively pressed on those names to find their past articles. I do it every bloody time.
