With all the outcry over RDR not coming our way, I'm kind of curious as to why Gun never gets mentioned. I didn't even realize that it got a PC release until today, but Gamestop is running this for $8, at least in the states. Is it a buggy mess? I'm sure there's a hash of problems what with it already having a poor port to the 360, but I'm wondering why I never see it talked about.
I played it a few years ago, it was pretty enjoyable

It shows its age, but it is a good game. Worth picking up cheaply.

This game is absolutely new for me and i have heard about it and i never know when this game revealed but after checking here i found it and i will check it out.
I liked Gun.
Flawed but well worth a bash if you're getting it cheap.
On the cheap, this is a really good game. I heartily reccomend it ^_^

I have an abiding love for the original Call Of Juarez. It still looks amazing and the gunplay is superb.

RDR just isn't really that good of a game. It starts out AMAZING and slowly turns into the world's most boring corridor shooter -- every level is kill 40(!) enemies in a wide open field with auto aim. Get GUN instead.

Call of Juarez is ace and deserves way more love than it seems to get.
That said, it must've been doing okay since it turned into a diminishing-returns series.

Still waiting for the sequel.
I loved the action and it had a pretty good story too. Bonus points for Lance Henriksen as the villain. It blows my mind that the freakin' Tony Hawk studio delivered such a solid and unusual action game.

I've put it on my list. I remember my sister's boyfriend gushing about it back when it came out, but I never did get around to buying it. I love westerns though, so when I have the funds I'll pick it up. (It's $10 on Amazon, and I'd rather pay the extra $2 than use Impulse)

My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I remember something about the developers in charge of Mexico thinking they were designing the tutorial section of the game. Just another effect of RDR's developement clusterfuck.

Awsome game man, considering that there aren't a lot of western games out there. Very good soundtrack, good plot, nice characters and of a good setting.

Ha! That makes a worrying amount of sense.

indeed it does.
Anyway, it gets a whole hell of a lot better after that so go buy it again.

Gun was great, though it hasn't dated well. However, this comment was a classic -

A corridor shooter than only involves shooting people in wide open fields? RDR is one of the best games of the last 5 or 6 years, PC or console.
Also, if you go into the options of RDR and turn the difficulty up it removes the auto aim. Same as GTA4 I highly recommend playing it that way.

i really missed the love for RDR. it's cool and everything, but it was in no way revolutionary or mindblowing.
