There's something that RPS has been too shy to tell us!

At this week's Games Media Awards ceremony, Rock Paper Shotgun won the gong for best games blog.

Proof! http://www.next-gen.biz/news/edge-wins-best-magazine-games-media-awards

And we all know why they won, didn't they?

Staring eyes tags.

Congratulations, fellas!

Congrats (again) chaps, well deserved.

Sounds like much of the event was overshadowed by the free condoms, dwarves and cokefiends, provided by Graingers Games though. (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2011-10-27-games-media-awards-soured-by-sponsors)

Nice one :) Did you get a prize? A big bag of sweets perhaps?

I declare this 1-post user to be RPS, and accuse them of being not-shy!

Huh, never thought about RPS as a blog! Edge as best magazine makes me happy as it's the only one I buy

They're going to have to build a shelf to keep all these awards on soon. And hire someone to dust them. In a sexy french maid outfit. er. Yeah.

They're far too busy eating their celebratory packets of biscuits to tell us the good news.

We're not at all shy about it and it's flattering to win, but it's an inter-industry award voted for by a very small number of people rather than a The World Loves RPS! kinda thing, so didn't seem appropriate to shout about it.

Still, being voted the best by your own industry isn't something to be modest about, is it?

The Oscars are voted for by members of the film industry and that doesn't stop Gwynneth Paltrow from taking them very seriously indeed. Go on, Alec, geez a wee cry - go on.

EDIT: Oops. After reading a bit about what transpired on the evening my previous sentence may have come across as rather insensitive. Well done on the award, regardless of the behaviour of the sponsors.
