I'm not yet sure what I think about this, though if the game becomes like other free games and has a microtransaction-to-win plan I'll avoid it. That this was implemented after the game was ready for release as an offline game does not bode well.

It's hardly a massive change. It wasn't an offline game anyway, it was supposed to be more along the lines of Guild Wars.

I'm perplexed as to what NWN has to do with Neverwinter.

I'm perplexed as to what NWN has to do with Neverwinter.

Well, the original NWN was also an MMO. But that was a different NWN. And that's stretching the link somewhat.

Well, yes, but pakoito's link is about the BioWare game, not the ol' MMO :p

Well, yes, but pakoito's link is about the BioWare game, not the ol' MMO :pBioware's Neverwinter Nights was capable of persistant MMO words with hundreds of users at any given time, all MMO systems and Dungeon Master capabilities. It deserves to still be considered a good valid MMO from the new NW to look up to.

Or the actual NWN MMO that came out in 1991.

I actually played this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neverwinter_Nights_(AOL_game)

For two days.

Then I restarted Curse of the Azure Bonds.

I only got the chance to play Yserbius and Twinion on Sierra's ImagiNation.

AOL's NWN sounds better.

Didn't they announced that Neverwinter was an MMO a year or two ago? It is the first MMO Cryptic will release that isn't part of their "MMO Factory" design philosophy. From the trailer I saw a while back, it's going to be a fantasy MMO. There aren't enough of those in the world.
