View Full Version : Fallout NV mod recommendations

I started playing this on the consolebox but having lost patience with all things xbox, I picked this up in the steam sale. I was around 15 hours in but what the hell. I'm going to start from the beginning again. Which has made me wonder, what are some mods for it that anyone can recommend?

EDIT: In particular, anything that makes it look better.

The only mod I used that I can remember the name of is fellout (http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34888) also used a mod to allow unlimited companions (google says http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34870)

Better how? Textures, lighting, what?

There's a mod to improve the PipBoy light, but the name escapes me. I don't really run FO:NV modded, there's no real point and there doesn't seem to be as many mods as there were for FO3.

Project Nevada (http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40040) is pretty good, personally I just used the "core" pack as the cyberware stuff looked like fluff to me, but the balance bit also looks interesting. The main thing I can't live without is the sprint function, but the grenade hotkey is pretty useful too.

Aside from that, all I really felt the need for was a UI mod and some higher-res textures, plus a few other little tweaks such as one to remove the irritating electrical sound ED-E makes when you upgrade his weapon. Oh, and one that adds a player home in Goodsprings.

Oh, I forgot, DarnUI is a good UI pack, but there's really only so much that can be done.

This has been discussed a great deal in the forums - a quick search found this amazing list I've used in the past

http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/fallout-new-vegas-t10510.html (cherry pick your choices and use his load order for compatibility)

and this RPS thread full of suggestions:

Good luck :)
