Just curious. I see that RPS spent a great number of pages on this particular game. I thought this is a game from Germany, not from Britain.

What does that have to do with anything? RPS is a British website, run by Britons, but that doesn't mean they only write about British games.

You're in China, I'm in the USA, and we all read a British website for the same reason: good writing and good PC games are not about country boarders.

BTW, one of my favorite publishers is in Germany, DTP (http://www.dtp-entertainment.com/en/). They made the Drakensang series, Venetica, and Grey Matter. I would never have found them if not for RPS!

I suppose it has British accents? At least, that or voice actors pretending to be British.

Sorry for my misleading comment. Actually I am just curious for why RPS would be so interested in this particular game, that's all. I tried the Xbox version at my friend's place, and it played like button smashing and gave me serious motion sickness. Plus, graphics was not impressive for a game in 2009. And my friend's copy is Asian version with Chinese packaging, misled us to think that the game had been localized. Turn out only packaging and manual were localized :p

You answered your own question: you played the Xbox 360 version.

No, I'm not being one of *those* people, claiming PC superiority -- the Xbox 360 version of Risen is widely known as being an inferior version in graphics, gameplay and bugs and is not even close to the PC version. Its pretty much the opposite of what we see on the PC, when a good console game gets mangled for the PC.

I think (I haven't played it so I don't know for sure) it's because Risen has a lot of potential but fails to really deliver. RPS has a habit of writing about such games. Here (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/02/17/the-longest-day-24-hours-in-white-gold/)'s one example that I remember well.
