I would first like to commend this wonderful community as it should. I read far these forums for quite some time now but i never dared to jump into the arena, especially because my broken english...But today is a special day forme, i take this topic to introduce myself to you with my first game. Verlies.

Do you like to explore labyrinthine dungeons for hours ? To find heaps of treasures, items and gear ? To fall victim to a lot of vicious traps, and to die just before reaching the merchant because of some huge monster that tore you apart in a single strike ? Then Verlies was designed just for you !

Verlies is a dungeon crawler / Hack & Slash taking place in dungeons filled with deadly traps, chests and other randomly generated stuff. You will be facing enemies, searching for equipment and powerful scrolls, and meeting NPCs offering various services for a fee. All of this being randomly generated, from start to finish (spells' cost and power, enemies' strenght, gear's statistics, location of the NPC, etc ). It's impossible to play the same game twice !

To face these traps waiting to kill you at every corner you cross and every box you open, you will have 12 "jobs" to choose from. They will allow you to build your own and unique character.

Building a balanced game (difficulty, economy, ...) was one of the main objective of the development, and was conducted with the utmost care. You will definitively have a hard time choosing between the various services offered by the NPCs (sale & purchase, maintenance of the gear, blessings, forging of new items, etc...).

The game was built to be a "base" for regular free updates, providing brand new content ! It will evolve with the addition of new ideas, advices and wishes from you, the players. Feel free to discuss the game and give your opinion or advices here.

1) Introduces self as dev
2) Posts interesting game concept
3) Shows clear progress

Ticks all the boxes! Looks very interesting. Is it going to be an unforgiving dungeon crawl, sort of like Nethack?

Also, not sure why but those screenshots remind me of Stonekeep.

I also want to be a philosopher and get +10 Exp for every killed monster :)
(Am I guessing right that it's less and less useful as you progress to higher levels?)

Anyway, here's a link to more images for the curious

And congrats for making and releasing a game, you have my respect

Any game with a german title has my vote.

In all seriousness, seems genuinely interesting. I'll have to take a closer look at the website when I get home.

No, it's a semi real time system.

Thank you for your hospitality! I would not say Verlie is cruel and unforgiving, but I did everything to get a real progressive difficulty despite the number of parameters randomly administered.

And yes you are not the first to make me notice the resemblance StoneKeep ^ ^.

As my grandfather said, philosophy is it for a lifetime!

No, it's a semi real time system.
What does that mean? You can pause it?

This looks like the old game Dungeon Master, anyone remember that?
Was a fun game.

There's also a freeware windows version of dungeon master someone made --

I like the genre

Combat is in real time but can not strike at infinity is defined by the speed of the weapon. I doubt it very clear.

This looks quite cool! The mesmeric eyes of your forum avatar compel me to click links and watch videos. O_O

Like Oblivion and Skyrim then?

Not unless it involves a lot of backpedaling.

No, because it looks like you don't have a party.

True, but apart from that it looks like it has a lot more in common with these games than with any of the new Elder Scrolls games. Movement seems to be tile based and combat doesn't seem to be position and timing based. Looks like monsters stand in the tile in front of you and you attack them with different weapons/spells that seem to be on a cooldown.

Single character dungeon master, if you will.

Okami explains this better than I'll have done with my poor english ^ o ^! But that's it.
