So a friend and I recently played through Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and had an absolute blast. This isn't a subgenre I have a lot of experience with, but I'm curious if there are any other good, similar games. That is, games with strong (online) co-op puzzle solving and maybe some violence. We played through Portal 2 co-op (good) and Trine 2 (less good, at least with 2 players) but haven't had any luck finding anything else that fits the bill.

Maybe Magicka? There are just a few puzzles, but it is a blast in co-op as you can divide offensive/defensive casting between the players and help each other out. And some of the bosses actually do feel like puzzles.

We've played through Magicka (haven't gotten to the new DLC yet, but plan to). It wouldn't have occurred to me to put it in this category, but you're right that it does sort of fit.

Hmm, in that case what about some emulated stuff? The Lost Vikings (http://www.mobygames.com/game/lost-vikings) are pretty much the grandfathers (http://www.mobygames.com/game/norse-by-norse-west-the-return-of-the-lost-vikings) of the Trine crew.

Well, I'm talking online co-op here, not same room, so I don't know how well that would work. I appreciate the effort, though.

Yup, alright. You didn't say so specifically.

Yep, I'll clarify that in the OP.

Stealth is a sort of puzzle, guards attention, patrols, security systems so i guess i should point out chaos theory.

But if you ever want to check out some coop I suggest http://www.co-optimus.com/

Hmm, I actually have both Chaos Theory and Conviction lying around. I'd been meaning to get to them in co-op, I might be able to sell that.

And yeah, co-optimus is awesome. Unfortunately what I'm looking for is kind of hard to turn into a search term, but you're right that trolling around their reviews might turn something up.

Puzzle tag, shame you cant really filter by system and genre at the same time.

Actually I managed to filter by system and genre earlier (not sure what I did, in retrospect) and the short answer was no, there isn't anything of note. Tidalis is a pure puzzle game and not what I'm looking for (though it's a clever pure puzzle game) and I didn't care for Flock. Oddly, LCatGL is listed as an "action" game in their listing, which is just wrong. I wonder if there are similar games that are hidden in that list somewhere.
