Hey, my friend pays for a server but isn't getting his money's worth. What servers do you guys use? I want one we can run Tekkit on for the Technic Pack.

Cheers!

EDIT: To explain, I'm asking what host we should go give money to, not a server to play on.

If you are looking for eu hosting http://www.multiplaygameservers.com/game-servers/mc-minecraft/ may be worth a look

I am currently using a server from http://daddycheese.com/
They are cheap and the server runs fine I have yet to encounter any kind of problem. And if you are planning to use a lot of mods/plugins be sure to get a little bit of extra ram.

I also wouldn't recommend multiplay because they charge waaay to much for what you get back.
Daddycheese server: 9.98
Multiplay server: 31.00

They both have the exact same specs, ridiculous.

I don't really know where you're getting that figure from, but I'll assume it's accurate. At that price point you might as well go whole hog and rent your own dedicated server or vps. You can get a linux box with quad 2.6 GHz, 16 GB ram and 2TB hdd for about 36 if you shop around a bit. Sure, you have to learn how to use putty, but it's not that hard and you can do whatever you want with the server :)

Managed services make things easy, but the premium is pretty huge and you always run the possibility of the provider overselling, folding, etc.

Thanks, guys. I can't tell if the Redstonehost is UK based (because I'm a dumb american), but I'll certainly check it out.

Thanks again.
