You're stopping the wrong members from posting. Let us post please. Thanks.

Agreed. This is affecting our ability to respond. What's the point if your post won't be approved for - possibly - hours?

Eh. I've gotten one post held for moderation in, what, 3,700?

Dollars to donuts it's probably because I used some blacklisted word. I'm kinda curious what it is, tho.

That said, if there's a way to whitelist somebody, hey.

I've had three in the past hour at least.

I suspect that if our overlords start seeing a backlog of regulars' posts to sift through, they'll change the parameters.

Getting them with regularity here too. I doubt a mod is even on right now, so my post which consisted of a simple sentence may be stuck for a while. You are all of course free to respond to my posts when they show up eight hours later, but I'm afraid I'd have long since moved on by then.

One would hope so. I've had two responses in the DA2 thread hit with the filter; one a general post, the other a direct response to something a poster said. Like Drake pointed out, it's just... too late.

And two spammers have just gotten through it.

I haven't had any held. Does this mean I am above/below suspicion?

Actually how does the system decide to hold a post? Is it based on the wording or volume of posts per unit of time?

I'm gonna' go build my own forum, with blackjack and hookers.

Have you tried replying to this thread since 10:00? - http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/forums/showthread.php?3993-EA-wins-price-Consumerist-happy

Just tried again and it worked. :D

It's possible that this post isn't entirely serious.

Phasers may be set to overzealous right now, but my understanding of this antispam tool is that it needs a bit of time to learn. Be patient, please.

...
yeah, it needs a member selection process.

Althea

Is this filter checking signatures?

To be honest, most of the bots/spammers we see in posts have it in their signature, not their posts.

Okay -- if a user has 50 posts or more it should let them through unmolested now.

+1 for unmolested.

Interestingly on a previous post that was flagged for moderation, I changed "1:00" to "a minute" and it worked.

Thanks for attempting to defeat those evil machines.

Hey!! I autocensored my post!

That and I was being funny about me not needing moderation.

I had a post held in moderation (not surprising; I'm a new user of the forum) on the Mass Effect 3 'How Would Have You Ended It?' thread on Saturday and it's still not showing I don't think. Is it gone forever or pending in limbo? It's like my longest post on the forum to date and it's definitely the one I post the most effort into.

Always seems to happen to the super-long posts that took 20 minutes to write, doesnt it? At least thats the experience I've had with article comments being stuck in limbo.

I dunno. I've written one or two treatises and not really had that problem. I suspect it's a word filter.

Yeah, in my experience "in the moderation queue" means "fed to the incinerator."

My condolences dude.

I try to be pretty speedy about getting moderation-queue posts dealt with*, but I don't want to go into the ME3 thread because of spoilers. Sorry -- I'll try to brave it.

Dangit. Time to work on my post count. No problem, just get into one or two major arguments in the "PC Gaming Discussion" section and you should be fine.

Just post in any thread with RPG in the title, you're bound to get an argument.

Cheers for the feedback guys and thanks for looking at it Jams. I've had a stressful day at work myself but it's really good to come back to the forum today and see you're all very helpful. :)
