Figured I might as well resurrect the old thread title...

It looks like we've been noticed by spammers, and the lack of whatever it was that kept people from scripting spam on the old board is really showing.

Solip. Seems that there is no email verification/confirmation thing in place. I just made this account (false email address as well) and beyond image verification I'm able to post straight away. I think we could do with that in place for starters.

Unfortunately, there are some spammers that MANUALLY do the job :| meaning that you cannot really prevent them from posting, however we can all report the spammers with the tiny icon on the left :)

However one problem with that is that the icon (It did, at least, yesterday) requires you to wait 1 minute between reports. If a spambot/account posts say, 4 or 5 new topics, then I've got to wait 5 minutes to report them all. I can do other stuff whilst waiting obv, it's just a pain.

Yeah I've been reporting it (and tagging) but as you say you get the delay which makes it a pain when dealing with serial spammers.

As a loud complainer about spam, I just wanted to say that since this post it's been MUCH better. I actually don't remember seeing ANY spam in the past week or so. Thanks!

There has been some spam I think (I believe I've reported one or two), but the amount of it seems to have drastically reduced and doesn't seem to be up there for long at all.
