Check it out (http://www.rodvik.com/rodgames/STAVKA-OKH.html). This guy's other "art" games, including RPS-covered Last Thoughts of the Aurochs (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/04/21/humbles-last-thoughts-of-the-aurochs/), haven't really done anything for me, but this one's a winner. You play as a general for either the Russians or Germans in World War II, and each turn you have to pick one of three plans drawn up by your staff to recommend to Stalin/Hitler. Each plan has various characteristics, including "glory," which is how much reputation you'll get if it goes well, or lose if it goes badly.

If you win the war and you have lots of glory, things turn out fairly well for you. If you lose, though, it's better to have negative glory (being the best of all Nazis isn't worth a lot at Nuremberg, I guess).

I'd keep explaining the mechanics but it takes like 10 seconds to figure out, plus the guy's website has all the instructions. Give it a try maybe?
