I thought I'd throw this up to stem the clutter in the GW2 thread.
So feel free to trade things for the HoM, arrange dungeons and stuff here now.
I'll hit up a list of minis and things I need and the crap I have spare for others when I get home :]

Ditto, I'll compile my list tonight.
Also I am looking to have a bit of fun in a dungeon tonight! A likely start time would be between 8pm-9:30pm UK time, depending on how quickly it comes together.
Are lvl 20 characters for Prophecies ok to run those dungeons you guys are doing? I haven't played gw in several years, I have no idea if there are things I have to unlock in order to tag along.
Anyway, I'll be around @ 9:30pm CEST or so!

The dungeons are EotN content, so you'll need that expansion to play.
Not that there couldn't be other things to do; vanquishes, etc.
Gotcha, definitely have no EoTN characters. I could start leveling one, but by the time I'm done I'll probably be playing GW2.

Gotcha, definitely have no EoTN characters. I could start leveling one, but by the time I'm done I'll probably be playing GW2.You don't need to start a new EoTN character, your other guys can go there at any level. If a character is below level 20, they will get scaled up. It doesn't take particularly long to get a character into the EotN content, so we could get you there.
That sounds good, I'll buy the expansion tonight.

Apparently I already had EoTN active on my account. I guess I'll be ready to go, if you guys can bring me up to speed.

Cool! Well we can give you a quick intro to EotN tonight, then probably one of the Far Shiverpeaks dungeons as they are quickest to get to.
Assuming that only the team leader needs a quest for the whole party to get dungeon access (and more importantly, credit)?
EDIT: Just looking through the wiki and it seems so - the other players will miss out on quest rewards but still receive items from the chest(s) inside the dungeon.

Are you sure about this? I've played Guild Wars since launch and I've never known it to change anyone's level except for PVP.

It's true. This was added specifically for the Eye of the North areas, as that campaign starts at level 20.

Are you sure about this? I've played Guild Wars since launch and I've never known it to change anyone's level except for PVP.It's a bit quirky, but it works. As long as you are not level 20, the game chooses 3 (I think) attributes that you have skills of slotted in your bar and set 2 of them to 12 and one to 8 (or 9?), so it's not as great as being "real" level 20. But apart from that, you are pretty much as durable as a grown-up. :P
Edit: Ah, I just saw that you have to be level 10 to be able to get there. But that should be a given, I guess?

Yeah unless they're a native of Nightfall, I don't see how the character could be less than level 10 before encountering the intro quest.

For Screwie I have: Heket Warrior, Juggernaut, Whiptail Devourer, Roaring Ether and Cave Spider.
For apricotsoup I have: Heket Warrior, Mandragor Imp, Aatxe, Abyssal and Wind Rider.
(you'd both need the Roaring Ether and the Cave Spider: I've reserved them for Screwie to keep numbers even, I'd leave up to you to eventually arrange things differently)
I've sent you both a PM with my IGN (I'd prefer not to see it posted in public), please let me know when we can meet in game, I should be mostly at home during the day this week-end, but not likely at the PC.

Thanks to MOKKA and Squirrelfanatic, I was given a few lovely items last night so I've updated my list above. That means I'm no longer in the market for a Heket Warrior, but the others would be much appreciated.
I am 6 away from the next milestone, so the 4 Kismet can offer would be much appreciated. However if the Roaring Ether and Cave Spider will get Apricotsoup closer to (or over) their next milestone, by all means have them.
Squirrelfanatic also had a rare miniature (Shiro) going spare, if anyone doesn't have a rare yet. I declined it as I already have a rare it would only be worth 1 HoM point for me.

Ok, I have the following minis to offer:
Forest Minotaur
Shiro (rare)

I just checked my HoM and realised that I am only 4 minis away from the next milestone. I already have a green and golden mini in my HoM, so I'd be interested in some common spare minis, maybe also in exchange for some of the above. I don't care about an equal price/worth of minis, I'd just like to get those 4 extras in.
Edit: I'll put together a list of the minis I already have.

I still have my spares listed on page 1 - I think Squirrelfanatic you would benefit from my Windrider, and apricotsoup or applecup a Fungal Wallow, and applecup also an Aaxte. That leaves me with one Aaxte spare if anyone needs.
Aside from minis I'm going to try and finish some more dungeons - Underworld, Urgoz Warren, the Deep, Domain of Anguish. So if anyone else wants in, just add a post / add me on steam. Manveruppd is also up for it.

Anyone else having issues adding new minipets to the HoM? I've got a couple new ones that I need to dedicate and it just will not let me do it. I have the pets in my inventory, click the monument, and all I get are the options to rearrange the display but no option to add new stuff. At first I thought it was because they were duplicates, but I've double and triple checked that and it's not the case.
Also, I've got a few spare minipets(white/purple, maybe 1 gold) to trade off, but I can't remember which ones off the top of my head and I'm not home to check. For needed minipets, I've pretty much given up on getting the full 50 so I just need a green one(as if that's going to happen!) because I was stupid and sold my Kuunavang a long time ago. I could also use a Destroyer and a Tormentor weapon, but I don't have the cash to buy one straight off the market. I was hoping maybe someone had one to spare, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm sure there are enough people here that would help out with the final stage as well.

After chatting about it last night, I think it would be very cool to explore Sorrow's Furnace at some point in the future (especially since the area is set to return as a dungeon in GW2).
Of course to maximise my efforts I should look at getting a Black Moa Chick at the same time! Back to the norn fighting tournament for me I guess :P
(Gah, getting distracted in GW1 again when I should be focussed on HoM stuff!)

So I popped on to GW1 last night for the Black Moa Chick scavenger hunt and squeee Zho finally spawned in the norn fighting tournament (after something approaching 30 attempts) - I nearly died to her which would have been really annoying, but thankfully not.
Now I have the journal I just need to get gather some plat and materials together for the incubator itself. As for the other ingredients:
I secured a Honeycomb for this purpose some time ago, and picked up(and hardened) a Moa Egg last night. The fish I need will require a safari to Twin Serpent Lakes as I've not been there before so while it'll be easy, it'll just take a while. The berries are not hard either as I am at that specific point in the nightfall story right now to collect them.
That leaves the nest bedding, which I have to get to Vabbi to procure, which won't be fast and - worse still - volcanic rocks from the Ring of Fire Islands... As far behind as I am in the Nightfall Storyline, I am way waaaaay back in Ascalon with my only Prophecies character. I might need to pester/compensate somebody to go pick some up for me. :/
Oh yeah, and then there's the whole Sorrow's Furnace thing. Hehe.

Edit: I also have some spare Skree Wings lying around. The difficult part is obtaining the nesting material - you have to trade in the wings yourself.

Hey guys,
I've recently been trying to get that all important HoM score up as well!
If anyone has a spare Gold minipet, I would be very appreciative if I could take it off your hands.
Also, any spare hero armour you might have lying around, I would appreciate it.
I don't have much in the way of spare minipets, or money (it's all gone towards other HoM points), but I would happily help with any of those pesky missions or difficult titles. I suppose I'm something of a mercenary!
My one (sad, i know) spare minipet is a Necrid Horseman. If anyone needs it, or can help me out, give me a shout on steam! Steam name: Joefish_C

I picked up the berries last night, as I was checking my place in the Nightfall storyline anyway and still had to rescue Koss. The berry quest is a lot of fun though and not too hard - at least not challenge mission hard, anyway :)
Speaking of... how far has anyone ever gotten in the Dajkah Inlet challenge mission? I can only ever manage to get to the third island in the time limit and I think my lousy double-digit score is what is preventing me from finding any more hero armour drops there.
---
I think we'll be looking at a Nightfall run this Saturday afternoon - if there are no objections I'll add it as a scheduled event in the Steam group. Start will be around 2pm UK time.
What this will entail is working through the Kourna questline to get to Vabbi, maybe further. Ideally, your character will need to be at the Consulate Docks mission if not in Kourna already.
This is also the first main mission non-Nightfall characters have to undertake but if you've never set foot in Nightfall before we'll run through the intro mission for Prophecies/Factions characters too. Mostly though, I would prefer not to get sidetracked by Istan's quests when we should be looking to the mainland. :)

How many armour drops have you received in total in that mission? I think the droprate, well, drops quite a bit after the first few pieces. From the top of my head I don't know any numbers, but I know that running the mission became much more easy after rearranging my heroes' builds to something more damage oriented. Can you do that mission with multiple players? If yes, we can have a go at it later this week.

Yeah I ran it solo (with NPCs obv) a couple of times, then paired with Moondog a few times after that. Since then I've tried playing again solo and had no success. During those times we each got 3 pieces iirc, although I also gave one of mine away to Moony too.
The wiki page mentions that drops become more likely with higher scores, and my score has never hit 100+ in any run so I thought it might be tiered.

The hero armours are a good source of HoM points. Glint's Challenge is the one I've struggled on in particular, I really should give it a better go.
I'm looking to do Underworld and Urgoz's Warren at some point btw, worth a statue each in hall of monuments.
I will finish The Underworld at some point. I completed six of the ten quests when I went down there to charm a Black Widow on Saturday. Then my heroes got bum-rushed by the Terrorweb Dryders while trying to do Imprisoned Spirits.

Hey, if you chaps are playing, I might log in again. My main now is Queel Cleopatra (damn typo, I didn't notice until I was level 12 and I wsan't replaying all that content again), I have all expansions and about half of the HoM complete (I actually need a unique weapon and a unique armor piece). I was last doing War in Kryta but was prevented from advancing because I think I need to complete Prophecies with this character (it's an Elonian paragon), which kinda demoralized me. Anyway, I probably have some shit you might find useful or something.

Since we are planning to do the FoS anyways for the Black Moa Mini, we might as well do the associated quests (not all have to be completed, I think).
I remeber The Deep as being not too challenging (at least on NM), the main problem with the elite faction missions is getting access in the first place. Haven't done Urgoz's Warren myself yet, so that would be something I'd like to see.

I did watch WoodenPotatoes' playthroughs of both, The Deep in particular is really interesting!

02-08-2012, 09:37 AM
You just need Passage Scrolls (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Passage_Scroll#Passage_scrolls) to access Urgoz' Warren and The Deep, you can buy them for 1000 faction points from the same NPCs you use to convert "raw" faction into "title" faction (Kurzick Bureaucrat for a Passage Scroll to Urgoz' Warren and Luxon Scavenger for a Passage Scroll to the Deep), or for gold from a Rare Scroll Trader.
Urgoz' Warren can be a bit tricky done solo with seven heroes since you need to pick builds taking into account the final boss encounter and you may end up with a sub-optimal team for everything coming before (but it's doable).
With at last two human players and filling the free slots with heroes (both The Deep and Urgoz' Warren allow parties of 12) it shouldn't be much of a problem, just make sure you read the wiki to avoid bad surprises on the way to the boss (same goes for The Deep) and to know how to handle the battle with Urgoz.

Pleased to say I've cracked Glint's Challenge using a 3 mesmer, 3 necro, 1 rit build. All my character has to do is stand everybody in the right place and cast edge of extinction at the right time. I'm going to need 4 more bits of hero armour from the other challenges though, so will hopefully get that done over the weekend.

Been having conflicted feelings about all the title-farming I've been doing lately, and if I'm being honest with myself the only title I really want to get in GW1 is Rank 6. Tombs was my favourite kind of pvp but I never had a regular group for it (mostly did gvg with my guild), and I could only get so far with pugging. Then they changed it to 6-person teams and RUINED it, and by the time they switched it back I couldn't be bothered anymore. I don't want it for the HoM points or the rewards, I just want it cause it's the only thing I feel I need to achieve.
Now, not saying we should get a group together and do it, cause even if we can get together 8 experienced pvpers you need to be specifically familiar with the maps in there, and also the metagame, which has completely changed since I was a regular in there every night, but if anyone wants to give it a go for the hell of it and relive the embarassment of being beaten by the stupid Zaishen group before you even get to fight in the first match let me know! :)

Noticed there's an event planned for 14:00 BST/WEST (15:00 CEST): if those who're waiting for my miniatures could be in game a few minutes before the planned time for the event, I'd be there for trading.
If at last one of you can be there, I can hand over the whole bundle if you prefer, as if it wasn't clear, I'm not playing Guild Wars any more so you won't catch me in game without some previous arrangement.
Please let me know how you prefer to proceed. :)

Thanks for the minis Kismet - just 2 more until my next milestone now :)
Unfortunately the event was a bit of a fail - so it was just me and Moondog, and instead of Nightfall we continued our Eye of the North adventuing instead. We finished up at the Heart of the Shiverpeaks quest, which is horrible without other players, so that might be something to try for next time we have a group online!

Glad to help :)
Unfortunately my memories of Heart of the Shiverpeaks are a bit foggy: I seem to remember the path on the left at the beginning, coming from Battledepths, being better than the other one, you should be able to bypass the pool with the chained clerics which can be a bit time-consuming.
Here's the path I used to take:
1694
Second and third levels should be quite straightforward.
Unfortunately I can't be of much help with the major stumbling block of the dungeon: Cyndr the Mountain Heart being a boss you encounter only once per character (after completing the quest you'll find Magmus in its place when doing the dungeon) I can't provide any advise beyond those that can be found on the wiki (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Cyndr_the_Mountain_Heart), as I really don't remember much about the encounter.
Screwie

Oh yeah, in our initial attempt we found that room full of turrets and chained clerics and immediately turned the other way... not even gonna try that haha.
Despite your personal completion, if you join a team where the leader has the HotS quest active it should result in Cyndr spawning though, right? I would be surprised if it automatically defaults to the dungeon.
I'd rather do it "properly" (not least because it would probably involve less headaches too :) ) but there is always the pulling solution mentioned here (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Heart_of_the_Shiverpeaks_(quest)) if a larger team is not available next time we try (probably some evening next week if not next weekend).
Anyways I appreciate the help and advice. I'll add you on steam Bobby!

Looking through my HoM calculator, right now I only need 3 more points to hit my 20/50 goal!
One thing would get me there in one fell swoop - a full Honor plinth of 5 statues, of which I already have 2. I didn't realise completing The Deep and Urgoz' Warren grant their own statues - but those plus a statue from Sorrow's Furnace would get the reward to push me over the top.
Interesting. I'd always figured that would have been far off into the distance but with less than three weeks on the clock (Btw, yay!) it suddenly looks like the easiest and best way to go! This is doubly awesome as I've always wanted to do The Deep.
So expect an evening run at The Deep and Urgoz' Warren soonish :)
Of course if we do the Furnace I really should still work on the Black Moa Chick thing, so I should end up at 21.
Given the drop rate of diamonds and onyx, I'm now officially abandoning the quest to get any weapons for my Valor plinth. Although for bonus points I might still be able to grab more hero armour pieces (I need 4 for another point) or prestige armour (1 for 1 more point... or 3 for 3 more, but we are talking serious amounts of Plat there!).
I am impressed even approaching 20 points and with some much appreciated help, how un-grindy the process is so far. I know it gets worse later, but I thought it would be much worse much sooner.

No idea how many there were (1-2?), but I could really use them for my own goals if you have no use for them anymore.
Also, count me in for Urgoz/The Deep, and of course for the Furnace as well. If we do the Moa/Furnace trip first, you might save yourself one of the Elite Missions. By the way, those can be done in NM and you'll still get the statue.

Nice to see a lot of interest!
As far as I remember, though, these two areas can actually be impossible unless you have a few essential skills along - i remember making it all the way to Kanaxai once, and then having to quit because our group simply couldn't kill him with the skillsets we had.
If anyone here actually knows the strategies / builds needed to defeat Urgoz and Kanaxai, go ahead and post ! Otherwise, I'll try to read up on the missions and figure out what the absolute minimum requirements are.
Looking forward to it. Kanaxai, this time I'll get you!

Oh yes, we'll be playing close attention to the GWWiki at least when it comes to The Deep (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Deep):
Stance warriors are recommended for the tanking role, as enchant removal and area effects can get through skills such as Shadow Form and Spell Breaker.
Make sure before you enter the mission that at least one party member has either Rebirth or Unyielding Aura to get all players past a 5-switch gate near the start of the mission.
Enchantment removals or interrupts are required to stop Kanaxai's Nightmare Refuge (Revealed Enchantment is particularly good since it recharges instantly vs Monster enchantments, and can also be used on other Oni and Aspects).
Knock down skills are a must to kill Kanaxai and his aspects. "You Move Like a Dwarf!" is a good skill for this, as it is available to all classes and casts instantly, making it an efficient interrupt as well.
Looks like the weekend is our best bet! Shall we say Saturday evening?

Screwie
13-08-2012, 09:04 AM
Yeah there were only 4 of us so we each had a few heroes. There were a few sticky points:
Figuring out how to split the party with the teleporters into the first section - this took us a second try to get right (my bugged corpse not accepting resurrections notwithstanding).
The chamber where enemies can 'scorpion wire' you every 30s was pretty chaotic until we took out the patrols.
The entrance to the subterranean caves, when a veritable horde of nightmares appear from the mists. That caused a partial wipe but the team scraped through.
Kanaxai himself took a long while to drop - so much HP, and then all those ambushes he spawns..
We could certainly run The Deep again in the future. In the short term though, let's look at Urgoz's Warren and Sorrow's Furnace!
I am looking to run Sorrow's Furnace (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Sorrow's_Furnace) next Saturday. Now SF consists of 4 preliminary quests before the one we're actually interested in, The Final Assault (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Final_Assault) (whcih brings the boss battle and the HoM statue, not to mention the chance to make a Black Moa Chick).
It was mentioned on last Saturday night that only one person needs the quest active for everyone to enter - but does everyone still get credit (and the statue)?
Well regardless, I was thinking of starting a run on Saturday afternoon to do the 4 preliminary quests, then reconvening in the evening for the final assault. Folks are welcome to join me for one part or both.
The other question is, when can we also fit in Urgoz's Warren before the launch of GW2? Well I am free Friday night, or Sunday for that. Failing that (it is a bit of a blitz of GW1!), I can probably fit it in some time the following week. Please share your times if you're interested and we'll work something out!
In summary:
Sorrow's Furnace (preliminary quests) - Saturday afternoon.
Sorrow's Furnace (final assault) - Saturday evening maybe?
Urgoz's Warren - Friday evening/Sunday maybe?

13-08-2012, 09:20 AM
Hehe, yeah Kanaxai can be a bugger if you are not prepared for what's coming. You can trick your way through the encounter though by spawning all of the ambushes at the very beginning and pulling him away from his minions. Good job on finishing the Elite Mission, you guys!
I'll try to join the fun for the next event. If somebody still needs to get to Deldrimor Warcamp, I might be able to run you there from Droknar's Forge or Beacon's Perch if I get my guts together and practice a little bit beforehand.
Screwie
13-08-2012, 09:58 AM
Yeah we tried the trick where you force him to spawn his maximum additional creeps and then pull him away... it more or less worked, although it wasn't the cleanest of victories :)
I also spent Sunday plowing through Black Moa Chick stuff, first visiting Twin Serpent Lakes for a herring, and later I pushed through to Vabbi in Nightfall while half-watching the Olympics. I should be able to grab the nesting material at some point this week, leaving me needing only the volcanic rock and a bit of cash to finish the incubator for next weekend...

Thanks! Do your own schedule, I really don't know when will I have the time. Tried Urgoz and it really feels easier than The Deep. You just gotta advance VERY slowly, bring a longbow and pull group by group. For the second room (-15 health degen), there are 4 patrols, have everyone wait by teh entrance, outside of the degen effect, and have someone pull the patrols one by one, it's doable, if you have healing breeze or some +regen it's easy as pie. Once all the patrols are dead, rush the twisted bark that creates the effect and kill it, it's easy.
I quit at the 4th room, a long bridge with fire flowers. Couldn't do it without another human, but it shouldn't be very difficult. Beware when you get to the center of the bridge, a group of insta-killers spawns at the back, either camp away from the beginning of the bridge or leave some spirits to soak them up. Same thing when you get to the end of the bridge, but they spawn in front of you.

I did the long walk from Lion's Arch with my Canthan to the Deldrimor War Camp a few weeks ago. It's not too tough (aside from some ice wurms in the Nothern Shiverpeaks and the vicious Icedome area), but it just takes a few hours. A dedicated running build with some kind of immunity would probably take less time though.
Fissure of Woe I hear is pretty tough, and really long. WoodenPotatoes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPGhOZ8FRP0) did a good run through on it.

Not really. I did it shortly after the Update which enabled you take a full-Hero Group with you. It took me about 3-4 hours to complete and it was a rather casual experience.
Edit: I would join you for a round through the Fissure of Woe as it is not that much of a hassle to prepare for. The only thing that might get me into doing something more 'challenging', would be the underworld. I got my statue before Dhuum was introduced there and I never fought him. [Edit] Okay, just finished it, 3 hours approx. The "dungeon" is easy, easier than the final areas of Nightfall or Prophecies, you won't have any trouble, but do yourself a favour and go to the southeastern area of the map as soon as you can. There's a ghost that gives you a quest called "The Hunt" and it makes you walk all over the damn place. Get it early and save yourself from having to backtrack a LOT. Awesome!
Well I now have the incubator kit and the nesting material! :) I'm only missing one volcanic rock and I'm ready to take on Sorrow's Furnace.
I'm just going to quote myself here:
I indeed do have a 'volcanic rock' in my storage. Lord knows why...
So if you want to spare yourself the trip to the ring of fire islands, let me know.

Since the wiki tells me the Ring of Fire is inaccessible without going deep into the Prophecies storyline, I think I will be taking you up on that kind offer :)

Sorrow's Furnace (preliminary quests) - Saturday afternoon.
Sorrow's Furnace (final assault) - Saturday evening maybe?
Urgoz's Warren - Friday evening/Sunday maybe?
Update!
Tomorrow afternoon is still on, I will be participating in that regardless of numbers.
I am also still looking to run SF: The Final Assault in the evening. Probably a 7pm meet-up, with a view to starting by 7:30-8pm. As with other events, meet in the Steam group chat and we'll sort it out form there.
Urgoz's Warren I will not be able to run tonight, sorry. However, Sunday evening is still very much an option if there is interest.
I'll add all these events to the Steam group tonight.
Mokka, might you be around tonight for a quick trade?

Possible, I just need to re-install GW1. Just send me a message over steam when you're ready.
Edit: Ok, GW1 is installed.

You get a tormented weapon for your HoM if you do all of them. I'm going to do it on Sunday.

Bah, doesn't schlubs like me who have yet to complete the campaigns. Nice of them to add this though.

Yeah hardly altruistic of them giving out virtual weapons that cost nothing,it's to get people who haven't bought all 4 campaigns to buy them. Luckily for me I already have them so I might as well :p
@Screwie are you sure you need to have finished all the campaigns? I don't see anything about that on the wiki, try just travelling to the hub and picking up the quest from the festival coordinators.

It would take forever to get to the places you need for Wayfarers if you haven't completed the campaigns.

Sadly nobody showed for the Sorrow's Furnace run... but I did it anyway :D
Sorrow's Furnace is a visually stunning area, with a surprising amount of variety. And all the different areas seem to have a purpose, and the denizens make it feel really alive, like a place that actually functions. And then you get to the Forge Heart and it is breathtaking!
I wish I'd taken more pictures. (http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/spuffpuppy/Guild%20Wars/gw021.jpg)
The Final Assault itself was not bad at all - the hardest part of the whole quest chain is one of the preliminary quests, "Unspeakable, Unknowable" which has some awesome lore but is a bugger to solo as you're supposed to split your party.
I just need to complete Urgoz's Warren now, for 3 more HoM points.
(And yes, I did remember to bring the incubator... that would have been embarrassing :) )

Hey Screwie, sorry for not showing up. There was an emergency in my family this Friday which turned my plans for the weekend upside-down. Maybe, hopefully, I can come along for Urgoz' at least.

Thanks very much to NieA7 and Alini for questing into Urgoz's Warren with me tonight.
It took a couple of scary moments for us to get an handle on the difficulty - the spawn sizes are massive, even compared to The Deep - but once we settled into the careful pace required we made solid progress. Urgoz himself is not nearly as scary as Kanaxai, and we were able to defeat him no problem.
(To cap it all off, I even got Urgoz's Longbow (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Urgoz's_Longbow)! :) )
The Warren is a really eerie and epic place... It's difficult in the Echovald Forest to grasp just how big and ancient the trees must be and the Warren is that magnified. It's an area I'd love to see rendered in Guild Wars 2 because, real or petrified, it's just daunting and massive unlike any other fantasy forest.
Anyway, 21 HoM points, yay! :D

I guess this means that I'll be visiting the Warren another time.

As long as GW1 is around, I would not be adverse to going back and having another run through any of the dungeon content - it's rather profitable if nothing else!
Thinking about it, something else impressed me about the Warren. It's a place absolutely abandoned by humans. Urgoz, his wardens and the indigenous plantlife are all you meet in there. Lurking under the depths of the world's biggest forest is a burrow between the thickest and oldest of the trees, there is this pissed off spirit of nature exercising his anger through the plants around him. It's huge and hidden and extremely close.
It's not unique in this - there are other scary places in the game world - but Ugoz's Warren is what brought it home for me. You can say that all of GW's instances feel a little lonely, but ANet still managed to make you (or me, at least) feel the difference between a place that is just wild and remote, and a place that is flat out inhospitable to humans. It's pretty awesome.

Tip for those needing the "Any Rare Pet" and / or the "Any Pet" Statue. This counts for both.
You can get a level 20 Black Moa in about 10 minutes if you have these pre-requisites:
1) A ranger as primary or secondary profession, with the Charm Animal skill equipped.
2) Aspenwood Gate (kurzick storyline, if you have Fort Aspenwood, you'll have this)
3) Someone who's done the quests for the Black Moa, (ask in Rock Paper Signet chat or just any of your guildies)
You go out, kill a couple of mobs then charm the Black Moa. That's it done, it's lvl 20 already, just put it in your HoM and you'll instantly have your 2 extra points. Make sure your friend and any heroes are away when you charm it, as it goes hostile for a few seconds.

To clarify - I'm pretty sure the Black Moa counts for both the rare pet and any pet HoM points , but not for the any animal companion statue. Get another animal companion to lvl 20 and you get another statue for that plinth.
Also the phoenix is another statue all by itself - but you have to complete the final mission of Factions to even see it.
Hmm, that might be a fun outing... short too, as the final mission is basically a 3 minute boss fight.
EDIT: Scratch that, just realised you can't simply get to thw final mission without completing the storyline that comes before it :(

Yep, that's correct.
Oh, make sure that you' ve given your last pet up at the trainer before going to charm it.
