An excellent session comrades! Thanks to Washington and Wolfenswan for hosting and mission-making, and to those who came along for making it an excellent session.

We played:

Ballybrian - A hard pressed attack against player-controlled Wehrmacht forces, narrowly won by the British forces
Irish Hospitality (revive) - Despite some odd revive bugs, we managed to complete our prime objective (blocking the roads with our bodies to prevent german convoys)
Paras - I wasn't around for much of this, but from what I gleaned, it was 'a war of bullet attrition'
Ballybrian (again) - This time, the tables were turned, with the victorious attackers taking the role of defenders. We still won.
Lochanaig - A defence against the whole british army, kudos to Wolf for his "satchel-chaaaaaaarge"!
Achtung Panzer! - Tank charges really aren't the same without swords. We finished the session with a beach holiday and photographs!

I'd like to take this chance to remind everyone that next week we'll be playing some I44 domi, so bring your best bayonets and I'll see you there.

I was around for the first two missions, but the third (the Paratroopers defending behind Omaha Beach mission) kept crashing for me for some reason, so I gave up and left after that.

WW2 weapons and tactics sure gave Arma 2 a different feel. Not every soldier is a bullet hosing deathmachine, so the Bren was suddenly rather important. That gave way to a couple of more realistic-feeling tactics, where bounding seemed important and the MG was an essential part of the squad.

Looking forward to more WW2 action! (No! Wait, don't hit me, I meant tactical simulation!)

In Lochanaig, mounting that static MG was the best thing to do, ever. As I was killing dudes in it, I noticed that there was less and less chatter in the mumble channel every minute. After a while, the chatter stopped and everyone was dead. I just kept shooting, for some reason mounting the MG was like having an invincibility cheat on. Kept shooting until my ammo ran out. THEY JUST KEPT COMING. Dismounted the MG to find ammo, wanted to take the MG34 ammo thinking it is compatible, but then I died of shock or something :D Felt like this during the mission. http://gamecomments.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/doom-chaingun.jpg
88 kills overall.

Rest of the session was very fun aswell. Didn't stay for the beach party, as during achtung panzer I was too busy killing tanks with PIATs. and when I died a few times I called it a night. Good session people!
