I am having some wierd problem.
I was playing earlier, so i know i did install the game. But now, when i want to play, it downloads the whole game again. Was there a massive patch?

In the installation folder, there is a 15 gb gw2.dat, the exe (starting the launcher) and an empty tmp file. That sounds kind of wrong, but who knows.
Anyone else having similar problems?

I have the same directory structure, (which also struck me as odd) but everything is working fine here. Haven't had any massive patches drop today, but it was 4pm before I hot the client downloaded anyway.

What directory are you running the game from? Give it a directory like c:\guild wars 2 and dump the files in there. If your running from a temp directory your files may get deleted.

The 15gb GW2.dat is exactly how it's supposed to be. If you have a GW1 install you'll see that it's pretty much the exact same, in that you'll have a massive gw.dat file, a gw.tmp that's usually small or empty, a gw.exe, and maybe another file or two.

I'd say that something is wrong if you're having to redownload the game every time you try to launch it.

If you're still having trouble, you might want to try using the "-image" command line argument, or even "-repair". GW2 Command line arguments. (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Command_line_arguments)

Ha, i know what happened, when the downloading finished (no idea how long it took, i did not wait) the .dat had grown to 18GB and i was quite surprised to find out that you can actually hear the characters talk in your personal story.

It had installed the game in german but i had switched the language as sson as possible to english because the german speaker was horrible. Apparently it then let me play with no voices until i restarted, when it downloaded all the english sounds.
