Hey all,

me and the missus are looking to buy GW2, but i was wondering where the best prices are. Checking the local vendors revealed that some would go for the wild 80 euros per copy down to about 50 being the cheapest (which is still pretty damn expensive). Amazon.co.uk has it for some 41 euros, which seems to be the cheapest i've found so far.

We don't care if it's gonna be a digital copy or a boxed one really, just trying to save some buck. Can you advise on a cheap shop to get them?

Been scouting about myself, in UKpennies Amazon looks cheapest. Price comparison thingies seem to be a big steaming pile, promising cheaper downloads that when you click on are actually 40% more expensive.

Uk amazon is showing me 50 pounds before tax, so that seems pretty expensive to me. You can buy it from greenmangaming with the laborday discount code (25% if I recall correctly) so that gives you something like 41 euro's. But if someone has spotted it somewhere else for less moneys please do say so.

EDIT: they're out of stock...

I bought mine from Tesco with a voucher for 29.99. Voucher doesn't work any more though, but I did find this: https://www.coolshop.co.uk/catalog/product/53405-guild-wars-2--for-pc

GMG have physical copies in stock for 37.99 but I tried that code and doesn't work with it unfortunately, valid for downloads only I think. Digital copies still out of stock. 34.99 for a box from Play or Amazon looks to be the cheapest at the moment which is what I'll probably do now.

Stole this quote from the bargains thread.

At the moment it seems that boxed copies are cheaper than digital.

Which is entirely logical... not. :D

We'll have to wait a bit with the deal anyway, maybe prices will drop. So far amazon.co.uk is the cheapest (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007YZ5B0I/ref=s9_simh_gw_p63_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1VHQM0WZ9G27B7H0JCEY&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=317828027&pf_rd_i=468294) i've found.

Yeah, on new releases boxed copies tend to be cheaper, I guess it's something about advanced orders on physical copies from the retailers. Seems the cheap places are sold out now, I'm not in a hurry to play anyway, stuck my order on Amazon and I'll get it when it becomes available, probably won't start playing straight away anyway.
