I've been asked to write for an online BB magazine, and one of the ideas I had for articles was "Score in 1 turn".
Basically the idea is to come up with a position on the blood bowl field, and the readers have to suggest how the yellow team might score in 1 turn - you have to work out what the best odds are of the various options available.
Here is my very basic first attempt:
http://www.play-creator.com/viewplay.asp?viewplay=10681
So you are the yellow humans. Your thrower has the ball. Facing blue high elves. You need to score in one turn - what do you do? If you want help in reckoning the odds, check here: http://elyoukey2.phpnet.org/sac/
If anyone would be so kind as to have a crack at this for me, or if you had any ideas for other such positions, it would really help.
Cheers

Thrower marks Lineman High Elf 12, Blocker dodges (3+) blitz marked lineman(2Die), catcher dodges (3+ with reroll), fouls marked lineman (1 assist) AV7 effective 15/36 armour break, if armour break then 10+ cas (6/36).
Death is 1/6 right?

Something might be off, but here's what I've got: (select hidden text below)
Blitz the lineman in front of the thrower, from then different plans depending on result.
Blitzer: Dodge 3+ - block 1D (Pow, Stumble). Thrower: Pass 4+ with pass skill. Catcher: Catch 4+ with catch skill - Dodge 3+ with dodge skill.
Without reroll: 16.667 %
With reroll: 30.556 %
+
Blitzer: Dodge 3+ - block 1D (Both Down). Thrower: Dodge 3+ - Pass 4+ with pass skill. Catcher: Catch 4+ with catch skill - Dodge 3+ with dodge skill.
Without reroll: 3.704 %
With reroll: 9.259 %
+
Blitzer: Dodge 3+ - block 1D (Push). Thrower: Dodge 3+ - Dodge 3+ - Pass 4+ with pass skill. Catcher: Catch 4+ with catch skill - Dodge 3+ with dodge skill.
Without reroll: 4.938 %
With reroll: 13.169 %
=
Without reroll: 25.309 %
With reroll: 30.556 % (Can't be bothered to figure if it would better to not use a reroll on the blitz in some cases, so I'll just go with using it to stick to the first result if needed.)
Edit: Thinking more about it, it might be better to go for the lineman above the thrower with the blitz instead, but I can't calculate that out now. The odds with a reroll are also off since rerolling the block to anything except a pow/stumble counts as an instant failure.
Here's a pass difficulty chart which might help: http://www.dangermouse.net/games/bloodbowl/passes.gif

Gotta say I love the puzzle idea, and thanks for reminding me the play creator existed!

Coincidentally I was going to post a thread on Play Creator reminding people it existed (I've often pondered making match reports using Play Creator if I have a spare evening to dedicate to it...), and also pondered requesting if the Hivemind could shove the required BBCode into the forums to allow the mini-plays jobby to get embedded into posts.
A bit of googling shows it's hard to track down a source for the BBCode, but it should just be a case of converting say into the right HTML tags.

Embedding would be awesome. Writing my next match report using play creator is exactly what came to my mind.

Well, play-creator was down for a time due to cost, I refer you to this topic on bbtactics http://bbtactics.com/forums/play-creator-com-t1450/.

Hi Jolima - really helpful feedback, thank you!. I think that if you roll a push you want to make a long bomb rather than dodging through, though, because the dodges would be 4+.
In any event, it's good to see how even a simple situation can give a complicated answer! I'll tweak it a bit and try to make a more streamlined effort.
@Helio - Good job old boy. Always trust your instincts.
