This looks really good it's also said it's made by the same people that made Continent of The Ninth, it also has a bit of a guild wars/Raider Z feeling.

Is there something, anything, to distinguish this from other korean MMOs released in the past five years?

I have to say that there seems to be a slight lack of actual black deserts (or desserts for that matter) in that video.

Black pudding for lunch, then. Thanks.

EDIT: Oh, and the game looks good, but the combat? Meh.

Same old story. Potential MMOs from 2010 released in 2012, not so exciting. Potential MMOs from 2012 to be released in 2014, TOTALLY EXCITING.

I have pretty much zero interest in MMOs at this point. The genre is dying and will continue to to decline until someone figures out a way to make a game that isn't the same boring grind fest all over again.

The only other Korean MMO that I can think of that has Mount based combat is Mabinogi, the game is also open world and action based, which you haven't seem much of the two combined till recently. There is also Castle WarFare which I don't think any other Korean MMO does, Archeage does it but it's Chinese developed.

Sensible armour/clothing on female characters.

I wish that were true but I'm afraid we simply didn't see everything yet.

But... we DID see sensible armour/clothing on females though. And we didn't see (much) of the usual fantasy female clothing/armour (I think there was 1 female that appeared to be wearing a poncho, and nothing more).

Sensible from the waist up, at least.

Come on, a modern korean MMO without blatant pantyshots everwhyere - at the very least? Madness.

Unless it's player-driven economy/sandbox like Perpetuum and EVE, I can't get excited for it anymore - and this is definitely giving me a WOW vibe in those trailers. I think Guild Wars 2 and the Secret World have basically delivered the pinnacle of the theme-park style of MMO in different ways, and I'm ready to move on.

I really just want to wake up in an alternate reality where history diverged from our own when the MMO industry followed the example of Ultima Online instead of Everquest.
