Was going to buy Tony Hawks, saw videos on how bad it looks. Remembered I still own the first six or so Tony Hawk games and decided I'll buy this instead!

Cheaper too!

and i played JSRF on xobx 10 frigging years ago. liked it... i think (do remember playing it but i don't remember how good it was. I remember wreckless demo more than this game)

porting a 12 year old game to windows. so strange.

The big issue with TH (going on the XBOX version) is that they've chosen a very uneven selection of areas. It almost screams "the good stuff will be along as DLC later" and I find that offputting...

Not tried JSR yet - I was always a JSRF man but I'm all for blue-sky gaming so I'll be along shortly :)

Quick fingers, I noticed that as I hit 'post' and editted it instantly :)

I seriously doubt this will feel like a 12-year-old game because it's a style of game which fell out of popularity and this always felt ahead of it's time anyway.

That said - JSR could be a mean sonofabitch at times - I hope they smoothed-out the corners on it (as JSRF did) - I assume they're porting the European release rather than the original Japanese or US versions which were tougher and lacked some bits!?

Tony Hawk and JSR in the same day? It's like the Dreamcast all over again.

Now if only my PC would use the Dreamcast boot sound.

How are the resolution/game settings BTW? Are they gimped like in that Sonic Adventure steam release? Will stick with my Dreamcast rip if that's the case, even though I'm not too fond of nullDC.

You can choose resolution and MSAA. That's it.

Holy hell, I never thought to change the Windows boot sound. Thanks for the link.

Do we get native PC resolutions or 'upscaled' resolutions a la Sonic Adventure/Dark Souls? Maybe it's too soon to ask.

No effin idea, to be honest. Not sure it'd make much of a difference anyway, while the cel shaded graphics help a LOT, you're still getting a 3D game from 2000, it's not gonna look awemarvelousinducing one way or the other.
It still certainly "pops out" with all the colour it has, though. Which is freaking awesome.

Just asking because I already have a dreamcast rip from years ago and know how good it can look in HD. Wouldn't mind buying a proper PC port though, nullDC always seems to lose my controller config randomly...

Sonic Adventure on the other hand, it's no contest: the PC "port" doesn't hold a candle to the gamecube version running in glorious HD on Dolphin.
