So was thinking of re-installing this, but don't wanna dowload the entire client as I still have my old WoW disc (and have a measley download limit per month). Does anyone know whether its possible to register for the SE, install from disc, then patch. Or does registering force you to download it all from the off?

p.s. my download speed is crap so I know I wont qualify for the streaming edition.

Everything on that disc is obsolete. You'll have to redownload the entire thing up to patch 4.2. Sorry :(

Any idea roughly how big that download will be?

Er. The wrong side of 15-16 Gb. Probably upward of 20. Sorry :/

Yeah, that sounds about right.

I tried out WoW recently and it took up nearly half of my 40GB monthly allowance.

Oh well, sod that then.

Closer to 10GB I would think given that you wouldn't be getting any of the BC/Wrath/Cata content. More like 5GB before you can start playing (although the game would of course continue to download in the background).

Does downloading in the wee hours still count towards your monthly limit?

That depends entirely on your internet service provider. Please see side of packet for additional information.

My package used to be: No cap from 0000-1600, cap from then on. Repeat.

Back then, my cap was 2GB. *Shudder*
